About the adventure

After the stars fell, nothing was the same. Nature spirits had been protecting your village for as long as you can remember. But now these very spirits are turning against you. For now they keep to the edge of the forest, attacking rangers and the odd merchant wagon. But each month, their attacks seem closer. To defend your village, you must find allies to uncover the secret of the fallen stars. You will fight or appease the forest gods, confront the dangerous Wizards of the Vale and expand the world during campfire story time. So hop on the wagon, travel the lands and become the hero you are meant to be! 💖 Beginners welcome 🌈 LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent friendly environment 🗺️ Hand crafted maps with animated assets 🎭 Lovingly crafted NPC's and factions to join 🎵 Immersive sound design We will be taking our time with light, but heartfelt roleplaying. There will be quite moments on the wagon, at the campfire or while exploring the wilderness. Once initiative is rolled, combat is tactical and dangerous. You will have to work on strategies and listen to your intuition to prevail. In this campaign is inspired by: 🐺 Princess Mononoke 🧝 Frieren: Beyond Journey's End 💍 The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring For our neurospicy players, I will provide support, tips & tricks. Many of us struggle during games, either with staying focused, imagining things based on descriptions or just reading the room. I have experience both in being that player and running for a group of them. There are fairly simple techniques you can use, depending on your brand of neurodivergence. Let us find individual solutions that work for your!

Character creation

Creating your character

Your characters will be deeply linked into the world of Nor'Hai. Once you join, you will be able to join our discord community through a link. There, you will finds links to our D&D Beyond Campaign, where you can create a character using my Master Tier subscription. Your character will start at level 3. You can pick any ancestry and class that you want. Be aware that each ancestry and class has some small lore attached to it in our game world (like Rangers, Clerics & Wizards being actual jobs with specific tasks). You can find this lore on our discord server, to take it as a jumping off point for your character.

The current party

We are waiting for one more player to do our session 0! Nothing is set in stone yet, but the Monk and Druid class have been peeking one of the players interest.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You need to create a free D&D Beyond account (dndbeyond.com). All content (like rulebooks etc.) will be shared by me once you join the campaign. You can create a free Owlbear (https://www.owlbear.rodeo/) account, but it is also possible to join our Owlbear table without creating an account. The main benefit of creating an account is that you can upload your own art assets (like character pictures, spell templates etc.). You will also need to join our Zoom Call, which might require a small installation, but you will be prompted to do that once you join (so no need for preparation here, unless your computer/internet is really slow).

What Professor Grimm brings to the table

To create an immersive experience, I utilize a mix of beautiful artworks, sound scaping and music. In order to keep the rules side simple, I have a D&D Beyond account where I can share content for your character creation.

Homebrew rules

We use the D&D 2024 rules as written, but I allow deviations with a rule I call the "Devil's Bargain". You can perform feats that bend or even break rules for an increased risk or price. In low risk situations I might also use the "Rule of Cool", especially if you just want to do something awesome for flavor. In addition, I have slightly altered long and short rests to take a bit longer, in order to enable more of the relaxed play we strive to achieve.

Safety

How Professor Grimm creates a safe table

We use a session 0 to get to know each other and set expectations at the beginning of the campaign (and individual sessions for people who join later). Every hour, we do a five minute break to get some fresh air and drink some water (or get some snacks). After the session concludes, we sit together in a cozy after session hangout for a couple of minutes to decompress.
