Creating your character

Come with ideas, but be ready to collaborate. As a narrative DM, the goal will be to help create a team of Edgerunners who work together. We'll have a free session zero to work out goals and wants, and then before we start, I'll work with each player to create a character from the ground up.

Preparing for the session

You will need a mic and Discord. Webcam is not required, but highly encouraged. Please come to the first official game with an understanding of the rules and abilities regarding your character. You will not need to install any new software, but you should bring your own dice if you would prefer to roll physical dice instead of the digital ones. If you don't know the rules, that's fine, I'll help you as we go and get you acquainted with what you need before we start playing.

What Skyler brings to the table

Do you like music? Do you like unique voices and personalities for each NPC? Do you like story telling and narrative consequence along with your action and fun? As a DM originally inspired by Critical Role, I have a very similar playstyle and DM'ing style, preferring to engage players in very grounded character driven ways. I'll be bringing my books, notes, and world information to each game, while also providing necessary links and articles to the players that'll help them understand aspects of the world if they would like to read more about it. I will have combat maps at the ready or at least ready to create ones on the fly.

Homebrew rules

I tend not to go into games with established Homebrew rules. However, rules are guidelines, and things are always up for discussion, especially when it comes as a really cool player/character opportunity!

How Skyler creates a safe table

The world of this game WILL be Cyberpunk, which is very well known for having a very dark vibe and very often covers subjects and subject matter that can be disturbing to sensitive souls. However, despite that, the goal of this game is to entertain and provide a fantasy space to play, not to traumatize. As I meet with each player for character creation, I'll also be going over with them what kind of topics and subjects they may encounter, as well as discussing what they are or are not comfortable with dealing with at the table and in game. These limits will be kept very strictly too, and players who cross those lines will be reprimanded and potentially removed if the infraction is serious enough. Still, Cyberpunk again is known for being very dark so please apply to participate thoughtfully and with discretion.
