About the adventure
Using Daggerheart’s Motherboard campaign frame, we dive into a post-post-apocalyptic world where magic has been replaced by forgotten technology, and ancient machines still walk the land. The Echo Vale is a region built atop the ruins of a fallen civilization. Towering wires stretch across the sky, feeding power and information from the sealed spire known as the Motherboard. Walled cities cling to safety within ancient ruins, while wandering cities roam the Wastes atop massive mechanical beasts. But something has gone wrong. A malicious virus has spread through the Network, corrupting the remnants, the autonomous machines that once worked alongside the people of the Vale. What were once protectors, laborers, and companions have begun to turn violent. This catastrophe, known as the Remnant’s Fury, threatens to unravel the fragile balance holding the world together. In Motherboard, you’ll play hero survivors who leave the safety of the cities and venture into the Wastes to uncover the truth behind the virus, confront rogue machines, navigate clashing ideologies, and decide the future of a world built on technology no one fully understands. This campaign blends high-adventure with emotional stakes, asking hard questions about identity, responsibility, and what it means to inherit a broken world. Motherboard has themes of Artificial Intelligence, Identity & Personhood, Innovation, Technology vs. Humanity. In this Campaign, we will be starting at Level 1 and ending around Level 7.

How GM RiceKombo creates a safe table
To ensure everyone's comfort and safety during our game sessions, we employ several safety tools and practices. Here’s a breakdown of how we handle this: Lines and Veils Document: Before we even start, please fill out the link on Google Docs to our Lines and Veils document. This document helps outline boundaries and comfort levels regarding game content. Please review it and feel free to add your input. It’s important that everyone's on the same page. X, N, & O's: We use digital signals for our X (stop), N (pause or caution), and O (everything's okay) during the game. This can be through a private message to me or a signal in our group chat. It’s a discreet way to communicate comfort levels in real-time. Most Importantly I operate with an Open Door policy. I’m always open to feedback, whether about gameplay mechanics, narrative direction, or interpersonal dynamics. Let's keep the conversation open to ensure our game remains enjoyable and inclusive for all.
