About the adventure

This game is a cinematic, character-driven space opera set in a galaxy under authoritarian rule. The Empire’s reach is vast, but its control is not absolute—smugglers, idealists, spies, and former soldiers are beginning to resist. You play as unlikely heroes thrown into the heart of this growing rebellion, navigating dangerous worlds, forging alliances, and deciding what freedom is worth sacrificing for. The tone is adventurous and hopeful, with room for grit, moral tension, and personal stakes. Expect daring escapes, tense negotiations, covert missions, and moments where a single choice can shift the balance of power. The focus is on story and character first: who your heroes are, what they believe in, and how they change as the rebellion grows around them. This game is great for players who enjoy collaborative storytelling, bold choices, and cinematic action. New players are welcome—no deep system mastery required—while experienced players will find plenty of space for roleplay, strategy, and long-term character arcs. If you like found-family crews, rising against impossible odds, and shaping the fate of a galaxy together, this game is for you.

About me

About Me Hi, I'm Jay, a professional Dungeon Master passionate about bringing rich, immersive worlds to life. I specialize in story-driven adventures where player choices shape the world in meaningful ways. My games blend deep lore, grounded fantasy, and memorable character moments — perfect for players who love exploration, political intrigue, and dynamic storytelling. My day-job is being an English Teacher, which I think informs my approach to the game! I love writing and telling stories, but even more than that I love to help new players learn and get comfortable with the systems we play! If you're new/learning Dungeons and Dragons or SWRPG, I'm your guy! My sessions focus on clear communication, collaborative storytelling, and making sure every player has a seat at the table. I use session zeroes, safety tools, and custom worldbuilding to create adventures that feel real, impactful, and unforgettable. My Style: Narrative-driven campaigns with real stakes and consequences Realistic and "choices matter" worlds Emphasis on roleplay, exploration, and meaningful combat Collaborative character arcs that tie into the world’s evolving story Clear, fair rulings and open table culture If you’re looking for adventures where the world remembers what you've done — and where every road traveled leaves a mark — welcome to my table.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will happen before our first session, with time set aside during Session 0 to review characters, answer questions, and connect everyone to the story. New players are very welcome—I’m happy to help one-on-one if you’d like guidance or feedback while building your character. We’ll be using OggDude’s Character Generator for character creation and Roll20 for play. Characters should be fully built in OggDude and then imported or recreated in Roll20 before the first game. Please bring a copy of your character sheet (PDF or export) to Session 0 so we can make sure everything is set up correctly. Characters will begin at starting level with standard 200 XP. All stats, skills, and talents should be purchased using the normal rules in OggDude—no rolling for characteristics. Species, careers, and specializations must come from official FFG sourcebooks available in OggDude. Homebrew content is not allowed unless explicitly approved. When creating your character, aim for someone who has a reason to oppose the Empire—or who could be convinced to do so. Lone wolves are fine, but this is a cooperative, story-driven game about building a rebellion together, so characters should be willing to work as part of a team and engage with the larger conflict.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Before our first session, please complete the following: Create a Roll20 account (free) and join the game via the invite link. Download and install OggDude’s Character Generator for Star Wars RPG. Create your character in OggDude using official FFG content only. Export or save a copy of your character sheet (PDF or data file). Enter or import your character into Roll20 before Session 0. Join the game’s Discord server (link provided) for scheduling, voice chat, and announcements. Read the short campaign primer (setting overview and tone) shared before Session 0. If you run into any issues with software, character creation, or Roll20 setup, let me know—I’m happy to help before the game starts.

What Jay brings to the table

I aim to provide a welcoming, organized, and story-driven game where player choices matter. You can expect a clear narrative hook, recurring NPCs, and a living galaxy that reacts to your decisions—successes and failures alike. I’ll come prepared with session outlines, maps, and encounters, while leaving plenty of room for improvisation and player-driven moments. I use theater-of-the-mind supported by Roll20 maps and tokens when clarity matters, especially in combat or tense scenes. Combat is cinematic and purposeful rather than overly tactical—dramatic set pieces, meaningful stakes, and momentum take priority over grid precision. I generally follow the rules as written, but I’m comfortable bending them when the Rule of Cool enhances the story without breaking balance. Roleplay and atmosphere are important to me. I use distinct NPC voices and mannerisms (skill level varies!), along with light ambient music and soundtracks to set tone during key moments. You’re never required to do voices yourself—engagement and intent matter far more than performance. Most importantly, I run games collaboratively. I’m here to challenge the characters, not the players, and to make sure everyone has moments to shine. Expect open communication, respect at the table, and a focus on fun, inclusive storytelling where we’re building an epic rebellion together.

Safety

How Jay creates a safe table

Player comfort and safety are a priority at my table. Before the game begins, I’ll share a Lines and Veils document for everyone to review and optionally add to. This helps establish clear boundaries around content we want to avoid entirely (Lines) or keep off-screen (Veils). These boundaries will be respected at all times. We’ll also have a Session 0 where we go over expectations, tone, themes, and table norms, as well as discuss any questions or concerns in a low-pressure setting. This includes how to communicate during play if something feels uncomfortable, and how we’ll handle sensitive topics in the story. I use an Open Door policy—players are always free to step away, take a break, or leave a session for any reason, no explanation required. During play, players can flag discomfort by messaging me privately on Discord or Roll20, or by speaking up if they’re comfortable doing so. We’ll pause or redirect the scene as needed, no justification required. After intense or emotional scenes, I’m happy to do brief check-ins or aftercare, either at the end of the session or privately afterward, to make sure everyone is feeling okay and supported.
