About the adventure
🚶♀️Want to walk to Rivendell, see the Grey Havens, or just amble about the Shire? Then this play-by-post campaign is for you! Starting out on the eastern side of the Misty Mountains you are part of a group of Bardings, and others, that have been displaced after the destruction caused by Smaug not but 5-years ago. However, instead of fleeing to Lake-Town you relocated with some of the displaced dwarves who have long ambitions to traverse Moria and make their way across Eriador to make a home near Ered Luin. 🧙♂️This is an ambition long term campaign, setting up dynasties, and laying down roots, whilst also exploring. Once your home is established, I'll drop quest hooks your way as we roleplay encounters with NPCs in this West Marches inspired game. Or, if you have a place you want to explore, let me know and I'll create an adventure bespoke for the Company. This game is for those wanting to explore, build lore, and see the world around them change as their lineage is set where they themselves set root. 📜You can form a company and set out from home on a quest offered by your patron in an effort, and with a lot of hope, to fight back the growing presence of the Shadow. 🍄This game is perfect for first time players and old hats too! Everyone is welcome in Eriador!

What Ho, adventurers! I'm JJ, I've been a Dungeon Master running campaigns and one-shots since I got the D&D 3.5e books in 2003. 22 years later, I'm still running weekly games. My experience as a DM ranges from the down-right bizarre such as an all-dwarven one-shot to save Santa, to more serious high-drama and high-fantasy multi-year campaigns. I'm available for one off custom requests covering all of the games I have listed in my profile such as: D&D 5e, D&D 3.5, Pathfinder 2e, LotR 5e, AoS Soulbound, and Star Wars RPG. How DM JJ creates a safe table
I've done my best to think of all the things that could come up in an open-ended, sandbox campaign, however, it is not always possible to capture everything. As such I use the following techniques to ensure my players are not made uncomfortable by avoidable topics: ✅ Open Door - You're always welcome to step away and come back when ready, let me know (if you can) that you'll be away so I can adjust the scenario accordingly; and, ✅ DM me if anything is too much and I'll see what I can do to adjust the scenario as it plays out. It may not always be possible if the issue is a direct element of the encounter underway, but I will be able to make a note and avoid it in future encounters. ✅Session-0 will be done on a 1-2-1 basis
