About the adventure
As members of the Assassins Guild, you take great pride that no-one noticed you and in a job well done. Today isn't a good day for you and its all gong wrong. ok, well maybe sort of, as you and your buddy assassins are taking part in a team building exercise, when someone is killed. the problem is there wasn't an official request. Can you resolve this (un)alive situation? No need to have read any of Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels, but its highly recommended both for this game and the a great read. For those that have, there won't be a test. This one-shot adventure has 5 Assassins Guild members ready for you to use or if you have something in mind, go for it and happy to offer advice on this simple process. Dwarves, Feegles, Trolls all and more allowed and the word honest doesn't need to be used.

About me
Hey there, great to see you here. I’ve been known as Japes (jay-ps) since my 20s. The escapism of role-playing games is something I’ve loved since that first game of D&D as a child. Since then the number and types of games has grown and they have taught me one key thing: these games are at their best when everyone is having fun and sharing the experience it brings. That first game was with friends around our dinner table. That is where the ten-year-old me first tried being the Dungeon Master, and lets just say, I’ve learned a lot since then. Tried other systems over the years and really enjoyed Shadowrun and the film tie in Men in Black. More recently I started running games online, and quickly that first game became many and several of those players are still in my games today. Don't get me wrong I still enjoy a face to face game around the table, but online brings so many interesting people to the table. Every game here is a safe, creative place to be yourself, to try out that character and that's regardless of it being a unique. Whether you'll be a 1920s Call of Cthulhu black female FBI agent, something made of sapient pearwood in the quirky Discworld, or a Fairy Barbarian who flies over the heads of the wizard to growl at the enemy in Daggerheart. These are what we’re all here to be for a while. And I for one would love to see you let those creative idea’s bubble to the surface.

Creating your character
• This one-shot adventure has 5 ready made characters from the "Assassins Guild" you can use. • If you would like, characters are very simple and can be created in under 20mins. You come up with an idea of something that could fit in one of Terry Pratchett's books. Dwarves, Feegles, Humans, Trolls and more allowed.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Make sure you have: • A reliable PC, with a Chrome browser and internet connection • A working gaming headset or microphone and headphones (helps with music feedback) • Free accounts for: D&D Beyond, Discord and ForgeVTT (hosts FoundryVTT). Links provided after joining • I'll be 'on camera' and ask everyone to do likewise, it makes for a friendlier game
What Japes brings to the table
• New Player friendly. Be that first time to Discworld or role playing game in general. I’ll be on hand to guide you through the gameplay. • I’ll bring some voices to the table as I role play the NPCs and love it when players do to. It doesn't need to be of a ‘voice actor’ quality. • Background music (that is controllable by you so can be turned off if you prefer) and more icy music for those mountains. • Storytelling that will bring the narrative suspense to the table • A sprinkle of dry humour that adds a unique flavour

Safety
How Japes creates a safe table
• I provide a fun gaming environment filled with unexpected twists and turns, that will keep you guessing as to where things go next. To do this well, safety is a priority. • We'll be using the "Deck of Player Safety" which uses private responses for "hard no" topics in the game. [ https://app.demiplane.com/dops ] • I embrace inclusivity for all players at the table. The ism’s are to be left at the door. Should it arise I'll deal with it quickly. • We’ll have a break for 5 to 10 mins half way through the session. Time to top up drinks and snacks. • Content Warning of Death... You never known when he'll show up on Binky
