About the adventure
[👥Pre-made Character Sheets Available!👥] Welcome to Shadow of the Weird Wizard! This will be a campaign using the eponymous ruleset and set in wild and newly-settled world of fantasy and danger. Expect thematic music, perilous encounters, and an ever-changing world that you shape through your choices. Character progression will be steady and meaningful, leveling up after each 'quest' and culminating in level 10 characters by the climax. This campaign is perfect for players curious to try out the Shadow of the Weird Wizard system. Familiar d20 mechanics will feel at home for those experienced with D&D 5e, with plenty of streamlining and refinement to make the experience feel fresh. Character creation is both simple and modular, allowing you to build the adventurer you want to play from thousands of possible combinations. This campaign will be using both officially published adventures as well as customized adventures based on the characters you make. Combat: ⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️▪️ A good portion of our campaign will be facing off with terrifying enemies with a real risk of death. SotDL is brutal, but that's the thrill of it! Exploration:🔎🔎🔎🔎▪️▪️ I enjoy letting the table look around and soak up the atmosphere of an area, letting the environment carry the brunt of world-building, horror, and storytelling. Puzzles: 🧩🧩🧩▪️▪️ Think less "hit four switches in the right order" and more "solve a problem without stabbing it." Not every issue can be overcome in the same way, and thinking outside the box is rewarded. Travel: 🚶♂️➡️🚶♂️➡️▪️▪️▪️ This campaign will mostly take place in the same general area, so there won't be a lot of traveling! Roleplay: 🎭🎭🎭🎭▪️ Relationships and interactions between characters matter! Even if it's something simple, there will be plenty of chances to get into character and build a story together! Comedy: 😆😆▪️▪️▪️ Although the characters will be experiencing harsh trials and adversaries, we keep things lighthearted at the table and rarely get too serious. Creating your character
Character creation will occur prior to play, either in a free session 0 or throughout the week on your own time. Character start at level 1 using the base rules for SotWW. Starting characters are human, but future and 'sub' characters can be one of several extra ancestries!

What Keilan brings to the table
I will bring the Virtual Tabletop, character sheets, maps and tokens, chilling music, and the rules for Shadow of the Weird Wizard! This campaign is quite thematic, drawing elements from fantasy, adventure, and horror. I will be using visual aids and lots of ambient sounds and music to set the tone. I like to pace my sessions as cinematically as I can, helping players form a mental picture as they play. I run combat as smoothly as possible, relying more on the rule-of-cool and player spotlights than measuring every inch of movement.
