About the adventure

Karagatan is a world in upheaval. With the gods silent, Elemental Lords now shape regions through storm, fire, earth, and flood, while mortals fuel their rise through industry, magic, and belief. Cities fracture, borders shift, and no divine authority remains to set things right. What survives depends on who acts and why. Players take on the role of agents of SteelHawk International, a powerful for-profit adventuring guild that operates where governments, temples, and armies fail. SteelHawk agents are not mercenaries sent to swing swords without thought. They are decision-makers deployed into volatile situations where judgment matters as much as strength. Each mission presents choices that ripple outward, influencing factions, regions, and future opportunities. This is a drop-in, episodic campaign built for flexible schedules. Each session functions as a complete mission, but the world remembers what was done. Towns change, alliances form or collapse, and new crises emerge as a result of collective player action. New players are welcomed and supported, while experienced players will find depth in political tension, moral tradeoffs, and long-term consequences. The tone is heroic fantasy with real stakes. Combat is meaningful, roleplay drives outcomes, and exploration reveals a living world that reacts to player choices. Whether you seek to stabilize Karagatan, profit from its chaos, or reshape it entirely, your actions as a SteelHawk agent will help decide what kind of world emerges from the elemental storm.

About me

I run games inside a persistent Westmarch-style world where player choices leave lasting marks. I oversee a large, living campaign space while also serving as an active Dungeon Master at the table. With over 50,000 hours on Roll20 and eight years of Dungeon Mastering experience, I bring strong system mastery, firm table control, and the ability to adapt quickly when players push beyond expectations. My games are built to handle unexpected decisions, creative solutions, and player-driven chaos without sacrificing immersion or balance. Every campaign I run is supported by custom artwork, maps, tokens, and hand-built NPCs designed to feel grounded and memorable. NPCs are persistent and reactive. They remember past interactions, respond to player choices, and evolve alongside the world. Player characters are not observers. They are woven directly into the history, politics, and conflicts of the setting. My table emphasizes cinematic storytelling paired with tactical, meaningful encounters. I respect the rules of D&D 5E and use them as a foundation rather than a constraint. Encounters are balanced dynamically to reward creativity, teamwork, and smart risk-taking.

Character creation

Creating your character

All characters begin at Level 4 and must be created before your first session. After booking, you will receive access to a private Discord support ticket where our squires are available to help you build and verify your character. Ability Scores: Point Buy only (27-point system). Rolling and Standard Array are not allowed. Platform: Characters are created using D&D Beyond. Starting Gear: You begin with 1 free tool proficiency of your choice (granted by the server) and 2 healing potions at character creation. Ruleset: We use the 2024 D&D rules as the primary system, with select 2014 options allowed on a case-by-case basis. All legacy content must be approved and adjusted to align with 2024 rules. Approved Content: After booking, you will receive a Discord support ticket with a link to the full list of approved playable content for this campaign. All characters are members of SteelHawk International, a for-profit adventuring guild operating across the elemental world of Karagatan. If you are new to D&D or need assistance, guidance is available every step of the way!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Before your first session, players will need the following: A working microphone is required for clear voice communication. A webcam is optional. You will need a D&D Beyond account for character creation. Sessions are played on Roll20, so a free Roll20 account and a stable internet connection are required. After booking, you will receive an invitation to our Discord server. Discord is used for voice, coordination, and character support. Once inside Discord, you will be given access to a private support ticket. Our squires will assist with character creation, verification, and importing your character into Roll20. No prior experience or rulebook reading is required. Guidance is available throughout the setup process and during play.

What Wolf brings to the table

My games are cinematic, immersive, and emotionally driven. I provide a fully supported VTT experience with custom maps, tokens, mood art, and integrated Roll20 rule references. Ambient music and visual transitions help pull players into the world from the very first scene. Each session balances meaningful roleplay with technically satisfying combat. Whether you are negotiating with ancient spirits or ambushing an enemy warband, the stakes are clear and the outcomes matter. I do not rely on character voices, but I focus heavily on pacing, clarity, and player agency to keep scenes engaging and purposeful. My preparation is foundational to my GM style. I build the world, its factions, and its pressure points, but how players engage with them is entirely up to the table. Sessions are structured to work as complete missions, while still contributing to long-term consequences in a living world. I run Rules as Written as the default, with room for the Rule of Cool when it enhances the moment without breaking consistency. Players can expect a high-trust table, deep worldbuilding, and a space where their characters’ choices and legacies matter. You will not just explore Karagatan—you will help shape what it becomes.

Homebrew rules

This campaign primarily uses the 2024 D&D rules, with a small number of server-wide house rules to support balance, pacing, and consistency across a shared world. These include limits on stacking permanent armor bonuses, clarified flanking rules, and minor adjustments to how critical successes, failures, and death saves are handled. Some consequences for dropping to 0 HP are used to reinforce tension and meaningful risk without being punitive. All homebrew rules are applied consistently and are shared in full after booking through our Discord server. Nothing is hidden, and questions are always welcome before play.

Safety

How Wolf creates a safe table

I run a welcoming table where player comfort and trust are taken seriously. Safety at the table is handled through clear communication, respect, and active GM moderation rather than formal systems. Players are always free to pause a scene, step away, or message me privately at any time if something feels uncomfortable. No explanation is required, and concerns are addressed promptly and discreetly. Because this is a drop-in, episodic campaign, there is no formal Session 0. Expectations and tone are communicated during onboarding, and I check in as needed during and after play, especially following intense scenes. An Open Door policy is always in effect. If a player ever prefers to speak with someone other than the GM, a community guardian is available through the Discord server to help listen, support, or mediate concerns when needed. The goal is a table where players feel safe engaging deeply with the story, confident that boundaries will be respected and that their comfort matters.
