About the adventure
You will be go from investigating within a fishing village in the Icewind Dale to exploring a Northern arctic wilderness. This game is good for introductory D&D players as well as veterans. This module was originally made for the Wildmount setting but it has been repurposed for Forgotten Realms. The game has some mature and at times frightening moments, but will overall have a PG-13 movie vibe. We're here to roll dice, fight bad guys and have fun.

About me
Hi, my name is Andrew (DM.in.training), don't let the name fool you! As I have been viciously mocked for one of my reviews being me. I want to clarify, I used one of my in-person friends not affiliated with startplaying in any way to write a review and they did so on my account, apologies but want to be transparent. I am all about the experience we gain together as players and DM's. I play D&D 5E rules mostly and the training component has to do with other gaming systems. Been a player for 15 years, DMing off and on over those years. I am all about collaborative story telling that is D&D. I am a firm believer in Session 0's, I lean 50/50 RP & COMBAT (You the players will always be the thermostat for where we are at with it.) I use ABOVEVTT and DnDbeyond, I love to tell good stories and collaborate whenever possible. I honor inspirations and creativity when appropriate as well Embracing the Rule of Cool. I do voices and characters for my NPCs and I enjoy a more inclined experience to RolePlaying over combat but am prepared for encounter preferred players. I utilize a discord server for digital play that you will be able to have your own private player chat but also how we will video chat for each session. Thanks for checking me out!

Creating your character
Character creation happens at Session 0 and will be done prior to the date of the session inside of discord! A couple of things you need to know before hand: 1. Create a level 8 character 2. From either the settings of Exandria or Wildemount 3. Point buy or standard array are fine, but if you decide to roll your stats please do so with the DM for accountability. 4. If you are old school pen and paper please be sure to copy your info into a DM to me through Discord once we connect there 5. Backstories are yours to create and can be forseen into other aspects of this 1-shot that potentially can grow into a full campaign
Whatever your heart desires!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a discord account, webcam and mic for us to hear you. You may need an account on DNDBeyond in order to join ABOVEVTT. You may create your characters but for beginners I have several created characters that may be altered or used! You may use digital dice or real dice (Honor system in place) I have digital copies of character sheets and things like that so I am able to meet your needs.

Homebrew rules
I have a few homebrew rules that I apply to my game: 1. Potions are a bonus action for personal use and an action to administer to someone else. 2. DM inspiration is given for creative problem solving and frankly anything that falls into a rule of cool scenario 3. Death saves are rolled by the DM 4. Critical Hits are max dice roll plus 1 additional dice damage plus additional bonuses 5. Critical misses come with damage (depending on the context) Server Rules: 1. Respect One Another 2. Always communicate personal issues to owner @ageistpro and will be addressed privately 3. If issues cannot be resolved privately termination of account from server for future communications to occur separately will be done. 4. When Campaign is complete or One-Shot is complete, players will be removed from this server for future one-shots 5. ABSOLUTELY NO NSFW or Inappropriate images will be shared on any channel 6. This is a TTRPG server first anything outside of the sessions may be discussed between players and GM in the DM.In.Traininggeneral or #players-only-one-shot channels 7. Files to be shared must be game or session related 8. The Voice Channel is for all game sessions will not be allowed for personal use 9. All campaigns will involve violence of some kind (due to encounters) but all campaigns will not be 18+ or Rated R/XXX. Fade outs will ALWAYS APPLY 10. Have fun! As the DM I reserve the right to adjust, add or subtract rules as I see fit for the betterment of the server and everyone's safety.

How Andrew (DM.In.Training) creates a safe table
In session 0, we will go over the story and how your character will fit into the world. We will also have an open floor for discussion of content and what may need to be tampered or lessened in any way. After care will be outside the sessions time to discuss privately with me individually any issues within the game. Lines and Veils, what are they? LINES, will be hard lines from me that I will not cross or allow in my games. VEILS are elements that can be used or will be used but I will be open to discussing what veils every one and myself is comfortable with. This will be included in a simple questionnaire form each player can fill out ahead of session 0 for us to discuss.
