About the adventure
Great! You got dumped near an old, crumbling port not far from the once-glorious city of Starmantle, along the jagged coastline of the Dragon's Coast. The docks are rotted through, the gulls are too quiet, and the salt-heavy wind carries only the stench of abandonment. No inn to rest your head, no road to guide your steps, and no tavern to trade coin for safety. Just the creaking of empty ships now leaving, and the soft lap of tide against stone—and the unsettling sense that you're alone in the dark. Now what? What begins as a simple trek inland toward the fabled Trader’s Road quickly spirals into something far more dire. Those clouds in the distance don't look promising either. Now, with each step, you're starting to wonder. This is no longer just a journey to civilization—it's a gauntlet of survival, trust, and grit. The only certainty is that you’ll need your wits, your steel, and perhaps a few unexpected allies to see the next dawn. Will you rise to meet its challenge—or be forgotten among its many lost souls? ___________________________________ This adventure is tailor-made for newcomers of Dungeons & Dragons 5e (2024 edition). Characters will start at 1st level for this adventure to help those new to the game navigate their character more easily during game play. **NOTE: This is a regulated story to ensure time accuracy within the allocated time frame specified. As such, this is not a sandbox-oriented adventure as you may experience within a campaign. My adventures contain 3 parts - Opening, Adventure, and Epilogue. To meet expectations of players participating, I may make adjustments as we play to meet the expectations players have signed up for, which includes managing the time so it doesn't end too early or take too long than was expected.

About me
Take a seat by the fire and lend me your ear, for I see the same restless spark in your eyes that lit mine all those years ago. If you’ve ever lost yourself in the pages of a fantasy tome, or watched heroes clash steel beneath storm-dark skies, then you already know the call. That deep, undeniable yearning to step into the story—not just read it. To feel the weight of a sword in your hand, or trace your fingers over the brittle vellum of an ancient spellbook. To behold mountains that scrape the heavens, and to ride snarling beasts through emerald forests older than time. Yes... I know that call well. No more waiting. The winds of Faerûn stir once more, and destiny is calling your name. Let's go...

Creating your character
• Everyone starts at 1st level. • A link to a DnD Beyond Campaign will be provided. • Point Buy for Abilities. • A list of DnD Beyond character setting options will be provided. • No time to build a character? No problem. I have choice of several than can be provided. • Other details can be found on the Starwood Adventure Discord Server on the #character-creation channel.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
• A free DnD Beyond account is required. • A free Discord account is required to join my Discord sever. • A computer with a microphone is required. • A very strong internet connection is required. • A computer with a camera is optional. • Please disable any browser components used for 3rd party VTT connectivity to DnD Beyond to lessen technical issues during gameplay (e.g. Beyon20 is not needed). We will be using DnD Beyond Maps that are fully intergated with your DnD Beyond Charaters created, ensuring a smooth experience that is focused more on the action and less on technical issues. Great for people new to the VTT experience.
What Oscar (Starwood Adventures) brings to the table
All 2024 digital sourcebooks (Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, Monster Manual + some expanded books) will be provided once you have joined the DnD Beyond Campaign. I use music and sound effects to help build the experience. The focus is always on story first, mechanics second. I take character backgrounds into account where it makes sense in the story if I can. Most games will always aspire to provide an equal balance of every areas of enjoyment - combat, puzzles, and role play. I try to ensure there is something in every adventure for everyone, and will alway try to ensure everyone is getting attention and being heard. I use elements of sound effects and music to set the mood and align with the action. Using DnD Beyond's platform means a solid, consistant, and simple experience that you won't find with other VTT systems which are complex and often buggy.
