About the adventure

Ruins of the Grendleroot is a short dark fantasy campaign for characters levels 1–5, centered on the exploration of Blackclaw Mountain: a vast, ancient complex of caverns, fallen cities, sealed sanctuaries, and half-forgotten institutions buried deep beneath the surface. What appears at first to be a series of expeditions into old ruins gradually reveals itself as a single, connected struggle against a growing corruption rooted at the mountain’s core. From the safety of the Deepdelver’s Enclave hub, adventurers venture outward—curing blight from long-dead towers, confronting cult activity tied to forgotten gods, sealing dangerous entities best left unremembered, and defending the enclave from forces drawn to the mountain’s unrest. Each success stabilizes the region; each failure allows the corruption to spread. 🕯️ Exploration With Consequences: Every ruin, chamber, and relic is part of a larger history. Discoveries matter. Choices ripple outward, shaping future expeditions and the safety of those who live near the mountain. 🕯️ Ancient Power, Carefully Contained: Much of what lies below was sealed away on purpose. The campaign revolves around understanding why—and deciding whether those seals should be restored, broken, or exploited. 🕯️ For Players Who Enjoy Mystery and Momentum: This is a focused, story-driven campaign built on discovery, escalation, and mounting tension rather than random dungeon crawling. Combat is sharp and purposeful, but investigation, judgment, and restraint are just as important.

About me

I’m a full-time GM with a tech brain and a storyteller’s instinct. I run clean, well-prepped games with a healthy dose of improvisation and just enough chaos to keep players guessing. I love throwing players into situations they’ll definitely survive (probably). Also: unapologetically committed to terrible accents, delivered with great enthusiasm.
