About the adventure

Jewel of the north Neverwinter. With its bustling open air markets and busy store fronts the city hides many secret's, treasure, and plots. With relics from the past buried in the catacombs and treasure fit for a king scattered through the city and surrounding region it is all yours to discover. But beware of the whispers that echo through the back alleys and tap rooms that speak of plots, cults, and power. Should your name be whispered you too may be lost to time as well. In this high fantasy campaign you will hunt down relics, treasure, and fame to stop evil from taking over the coast and destroying the city itself. From raiding tombs and catacombs to scouring buildings and land marks you will meet NPC's who can help you on your quest or lead you to your doom. Will you be known as a treasure hunter, or socialize with the upper class to seek out political power? Perhaps you will be an adventurer for hire caught between the many plots that flow through the city streets.

About me

Hello all. A little about me. I have been playing and running dungeons and dragons games for 30 years. My games are a mix of role play, combat, and storytelling. For me the best part of the game is seeing the players complete an encounter and the joy in their voices upon realizing their achievement.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be handled during session zero. Session zero is free. We will use standard array for ability scores which I will hand out during session zero. I have everything you need to build a character on roll20. Starting level will be third level and level progression will be based on a milestone system.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need the following. A working microphone for communication. A working headset or speakers for audio. A Roll20 account. This can be a free account on Roll20 as I have what you need to build characters for the game. A Discord account where communication will take place for game play. Optional Webcams are optional but not needed. If you choose to build a character using DnD Beyond you will need the chrome extension Beyond20 to import your character into roll20.

What Thorin brings to the table

I will provide a link to Roll20 for game play during character creation. This is where we will play the game using maps, character tokens, and music. It will also contain the compendiums used for character creation and rules for game play for anyone new to the game of dungeons and dragons. I will also assist in token creation for those that need help. I will provide a link to players for discord prior to session zero. Discord will be used for communication during game play, discuss game details before and after each session, and will have channels for game notes. I do character voices for all npcs. However I am not a voice actor. I am not a rules lawyer. I believe the rules are there to give us a foundation and set boundaries for game play, but I practice the rule of cool. If there is something you want to try during the game that rules may suggest isn't doable just ask. Given the situation I may say yes or no. Its all about having fun!!!

Homebrew rules

Players get max crit damage on nat 20. Example On a nat 20 you would roll your normal damage. Your crit damage would be max damage.

Safety

How Thorin creates a safe table

Breaks will be taken mid way through each session. Players can reach out to me privately through discord or start playing to address any concerns, discuss expectations, and I am always open to suggestions to make your gaming session more enjoyable. Session zero (free) will be used for character creation, getting to know the party, and of course getting to know your friendly DM/GM me.
