Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.

I played lots of AD&D in the 1980s, a time I remember as lots of fun with my friends. Over the years I stopped almost completely, only a couple of times playing D&D video games, like the old pool of radiance, and I tried dragon age. I now have time to do things I want. I got up to speed with 5e, and I played Solasta. I liked it so much I bought the 2014 players handbook on D&D beyond. I played Baldur’s Gate 3. I recently bought a physical and digital copy of 2024 Players handbook on D&D beyond. I’ve listened to some D&D on YouTube. I would like to try and see if I would enjoy getting back into D&D with real people.
