About the adventure
The Cressidium Crisis is an introductory campaign for Lancer, taking pilots through LL0 up to LL5 through a series of tense, hard-fought encounters that will take every ounce of strategic planning and no small amount of luck to emerge victorious from, using the official adventures Operation Solstice Rain & Operation Winter Scar, but rebalanced and remixed for a more player-focused, sandbox approach. The Remix means the original, very on-rails adventure has been blown out and expanded to a much more expansive, free-form point crawl, where players are no longer railroaded from one encounter to the next with minimal boxed text to smooth it over, but instead allowed complete and total operational freedom as they find themselves deep in the heart of hostile forces, and must rendezvous with allied units if they are to escape alive. The party is free to choose where they go, what objectives they address, and who they interact with as the city of Nov Elysia is invaded on all fronts. Time is of the essence, meaning the party will have to make tough choices that will have immediate, as well as lasting, consequences throughout the adventure. If you were a fan of Halo 3: ODST's campaign structure, you will find a home here in Nov Elysia's rainy summer streets, where you and your squad are surrounded on all sides and the odds are stacked against you. Gear up and get even, Lancer.

About me
A decade long GM of 5e, alongside other major systems such as Lancer, Pathfinder and Shadowdark, as well as smaller, focused systems like Break!!, Into The Odd, DURF, and more. I love getting groups together to explore less popular systems that might appeal to their specific tastes, but also really love walking new interested people through the more popular/easily accessed systems so they can experience tabletop for themselves! I try to foster as friendly an environment as possible at my tables and have no patience for disruptive or otherwise inflammatory behavior. I strongly encourage players to simply interject or interrupt me when they feel it prudent to interact with a scene, and to help build the narrative as much as they possibly can so they don't feel railroaded or pigeonholed in any one decision. I look forward to playing with you and sharing stories together!
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Players should feel free to make their characters in Comp/Con (compcon.app/) at LL0, using any of the First-Party Lancer content provided by Massif Press. Only narrative stipulation is this character is in service to Union- be it as an enlisted, veteran pilot or a fresh-from-academy recruit, this character is on board a Union Diplomatic Vessel at the start of the campaign.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should make an effort to read the FREE player-facing rules available on Massif's itch.io page (Lancer Core Book: First Edition PDF FREE) Players should make an LL0 Pilot & Mech on compcon.app Upon finishing pilot creation, players should generate a share code and send it to me either here or on Discord (levilagoon) After that, I'll share the Foundry URL and you'll simply past it into your browser and join the game when it's time!
What Levi brings to the table
I bring as much as I can physically and emotionally bring to these things! Character voices, illustrations of my own and handmade tokens, ambient music, soundtracks, environmental mood art and interactive maps- I try to maximize as much as I can with the game's presentation to help players get and stay in the zone during the session as much as possible. I have a direct focus- especially with Lancer- on intense, tactical combat, and this adventure is no different. You are in a hostile-occupied territory and are fighting for every inch of ground you take- the combats will reflect that, and you aren't guaranteed any one victory. But that's okay- the story evolves as we play, and losing a fight doesn't mean you've lost the war. What I expect from players in exchange are good attitudes, cooperative, friendly mindsets, and an eagerness to engage with their characters in the space as you fight your way out of a war-torn city!
Homebrew rules
I have no real love for the jumping/scaling mechanincs of Lancer and depending on the day I will have different opinions on it, but by and large I rule that you can jump UP to your size, and any further distance scaled is done at half speed. Other than that, this adventure uses Maria's Alternative Rules for Stress & Structure (less stunlock for players on structure/stress rolls for less death spiraling) as well as Kai's NPC Rebake (more focused NPC roles and direction, less multiattacks in higher tiers) for a more cohesive, tactically engaging experience.

How Levi creates a safe table
I will have the X-Card module available on Foundry, so the moment something is brought up that you don't feel comfortable with, simply press the button if you don't feel comfortable addressing it out loud, and we will find another way around the scene or change topics entirely. During our Session 0, we can talk about Lines & Veils, topics we don't want directly addressed, and topics we're okay being gently alluded to or otherwise implied. Let it be known though, that Solstice Rain is an adventure that revolves around a desperate fight out of an invaded city- meaning that there will likely be depictions of violence by way of an oppressive force, and scenes of death/dying/violence. I treat these things with the gravity they deserve, and in no way make light of any of these situations in the setting given.
