About the adventure

Welcome to the high fantasy world we build together! This isn’t just about learning a new system. It’s about creating something that feels alive. Before dice hit the table, we’ll shape the world as a group; its places, people, myths, and mysteries. • Build the setting together. From small villages to great cities, from whispered rumors to legendary figures, every detail comes from our collective imagination. • Weave your stories early. Create ties between characters, shared pasts, rivalries, and friendships that matter when the adventure begins. • Trade ideas and rumors. Every secret or story someone adds becomes part of the living world we’ll explore. • Then we play in it. Every session builds on what we’ve made, turning choices into consequences and connections into legend. Let’s make something unforgettable together. Collaborative worldbuilding & storytelling at it's finest! [Note: We will begin with the starter adventure, Sablewood Messengers, incorporating it into our world, then continuing afterwards with our own custom adventures!] [[Beginner & LGBTQIA2S+ Friendly]] -------------------------------- šŸ“£See what Carlos has to say about my GM'ing: "I'd been curious about DnD for ages, but always held back b/c the whole "roleplaying" thing felt intimidating. Enter Leland, who made my first session absolutely magical. Even before we started, Leland was amazing. He walked me through character creation with so much patience and enthusiasm that I actually felt excited instead of nervous. Once we jumped into the game, it was clear immediately how much heart Leland pours into his campaigns. His voice acting?🤌. Every npc has their own distinct personality and voice, which brought the whole world to life. What really sets Leland apart for me is his genuine welcome to newcomers and his encouragement to participate, using simple prompts that let everyone shine at the table. He champions ideas, encourages creativity, and creates a supportive atmosphere that makes you feel like you've been playing ttrpgs forever. I was having so much fun that I didn't hesitate to join a second campaign of his! If you're on the fence about trying a ttrpg, Leland is your person. He turned my hesitation into pure excitement, and I look forward to our weekly sessions! Couldn't recommend him more highly."

About me

Hey everyone, it's me, Leland, aka Leopold the Just in most social media spaces! I’ve been deeply invested in tabletop RPGs since the start of the millennium, & I still love every second of every game I run or play. Aside from that, some of my other interests include going to music events, board gaming, playing strategy & RPG video games, camping, traveling, eating delicious food, learning more about science & art, getting tattoos, going to aquariums & museums, & much, much more. As a GM, my storytelling focus is on strange events, haunted & horrific places, emotional buy-in & consequences during roleplay, & NPCs you won’t forget. I run everything from cozy slice-of-life games to bleak horror, sometimes both in the same session. If you love group storytelling & want to play in an immersive world that feels alive, then I’m the right GM for you. --- What to expect at my table & in my community: • Sessions with a strong narrative focus on character development • Action-packed, descriptive combat that keeps you on the edge of your seat • A living world where NPCs react & evolve based on your choices • Shared storytelling that includes everyone, with collaborative worldbuilding that lets you leave your mark • A chill, inclusive space where everyone is welcome & every identity is valued • Exclusive $5 community one-shots for active members, bringing players from across tables together for fresh stories & shared adventures • Regular community events: exclusive access to my discord video game streams, board game nights, video watch-parties, & a live Kenku FM radio station; all to offer recreation during downtime between sessions So go ahead & pull up a virtual seat. Let’s tell some stories together!

Character creation

Creating your character

Given that this is a new game, we will get together during session 0, and make them together! We will follow the step by step instructions in the book as a group, and then take some time to establish relationships between these characters afterwards, using collaborative lore building methods.

The current party

We will create characters together during s0!

Safety

How Leland House Jr. creates a safe table

I'll have everyone submit lines/veils/interests via DMs, then I will distribute a pdf document for the other players to have on hand or have it as a handout in the VTT of choice. Then we'll go over them during session 0, along with making characters and doing some collaborative storytelling to establish relationships between said characters. I typically post a custom agenda the day before session 0 begins.
