About the adventure

The remote island settlement of Talmandor's Bounty is thrown into chaos as a strange magical effect plunges the region into shadow. Welcome Folks! Setting Sun, Rising Phoenix is a dual-AP campaign that will see players through Shades of Blood, followed by Fists of the Ruby Phoenix. This will be my first time running Shades of Blood and my third time running Ruby Phoenix. Shades of Blood is a Dungeon Crawl-focused AP that sees the players facing off against a group of awakened vampires. Ruby Phoenix is battle-heavy AP centered around the legendary Ruby Phoenix tournament. --- Campaign Duration I'm predicting that this campaign in its entirety will take between 30-40 sessions to complete. Players must be able to commit to the game on a weekly basis for the duration of the campaign. Where on Golarion? Shades of Blood begins in Talmandor's Bounty, an Andoran colony located amongst the isles of ancient Azlant. For Combat Lovers Between the bulk of Shades of Blood revolving around a dungeon-crawl and the tournament backdrop of Ruby Phoenix, players should expect a combat-heavy game filled with back-to-back encounters. While roleplay will be present and is encouraged between players, it will not be the dominant feature of this game. Character Creation *Players will begin the adventure at level 1. *Players will have the standard starting wealth for level 1: https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=2662&Redirected=1 *All official Common & Uncommon rulebook material (unless specified otherwise) is allowed. *Rare Ancestries, Feats, etc. must be ran by me first. Subsystems & Variant Rules *Ancestry Paragon: We will be using the Ancestry Paragon Rule *Free Archetype: We will be using the Free Archetype Variant Rule. *Epic Hero Points: Players will each receive a budget of 3 Hero Points per session. Experience Required Players must be able to build a level 1 character and have a basic understanding of the PF2E ruleset.

About me

Just an enjoyer of pretty much anything fantasy related. Avid fan of anime, survival horror games and TTRPGs of all flavors. I got my start with TTRPGs back in high school and have been hooked ever since. My GMing style puts strong focus on both combat and roleplay. I put a strong focus on making my games a safe space where folks of all backgrounds can roleplay and enjoy themselves. (Banner done by sarahwidiart: https://vgen.co/sarahwidiart)

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will begin the campaign at level 1 and will end the campaign at level 20. Both the backstory and the mechanical portion of character creation will occur via discord in the days leading up to session 0. Players will discuss character builds and alignment to ensure that the party can function both tactically and socially.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A Note About Foundry I use Foundry VTT to host all of my games, specifically the browser-service Forge. Both services are completely free to create accounts for and do not require any purchases on the players' behalf. If you are not familiar with how to use Foundry VTT as a player, I am more than happy to teach everyone the basics. --- To play in this campaign, you must: *Have a Foundry/TheForge Account for online play (browser-hosted). *Have a functioning Discord Account *Be comfortable using Discord Voice *Have a stable internet connection *Have a basic understanding of the PF2E Ruleset *Have a basic understanding of (or be willing to learn) Foundry VTT. *Be able to commit to the adventure on a weekly basis.

What Cody McGraw brings to the table

*I host a private discord server that only includes myself and the players from my campaigns. *I use TheForge platform of Foundry VTT to host my campaigns via internet browser. *On Foundry VTT I use Maps, Music, and other features. *I will be using the official Paizo Foundry VTT modules for both adventure paths.
