About the adventure

Welcome to the Borderlands, a forsaken edge of the world where gods dare not tread and myths crawl beneath the dust. Set in the divine-warped world of Deus, where gods walk the earth in mortal form, this campaign takes place in a land where their power grows thin—and something far older, far stranger, begins to rise. The Red Veil, a supernatural plague of dreams and omens, spreads beneath the glow of a rising Blood Moon, and the cursed name Hemesis is once again spoken aloud. This game blends frontier survival, mythic mystery, and emergent character drama. Expect ghost towns swallowed by shifting dust, ancient machines still humming beneath the stone, outlaw cults worshiping forgotten powers, and whispered prophecies wrapped in blood and salt. Whether you're a faithless gunslinger, a seer on the run, or a relic-hunter searching for meaning, you’ll shape the story through risk, kindness, sacrifice—and whatever secrets you carry into the dark. Borderlands: Red Veil is a new-player-friendly Daggerheart game. You don’t need to know the system to join—just bring your creativity, curiosity, and a love for collaborative storytelling. We’ll learn together and focus on characters first, mechanics second. This is also a LGBTQ+ inclusive table where all identities are welcome and respected. This game is built on trust, consent, and shared spotlight—perfect for players who enjoy emotional depth, wild creativity, and a world that changes with your choices. If you like mysterious worlds, big character arcs, and a little bit of weird magic horror, you’ll fit right in.

About me

Hi everyone. I've been a DM for about 15 years now. I've run everything from fully built home-brew worlds, official modules, silly one shots, and everything in-between. I started professionally DM'ing during the pandemic and have created a wonderful, inclusive, vibrant community that focuses on story-telling and roleplaying. I would love to run you/your party through any kind of adventure that you/your group is looking for. Something heroic, spooky, funny, mysterious, and everything in-between. Please message me, and let's set something up. This is my passion, and I would love to share it with you.

Character creation

Creating your character

We'll be creating Level 1 characters together on Demiplane before the first session. No prior Daggerheart experience is needed—we’ll walk through everything step by step! All official options are welcome unless otherwise noted, and this game is beginner-friendly, so feel free to come in with just a concept or vibe. If you already know what you want to play, even better!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Before we play, make sure you’ve done the following: Create a free account on Demiplane – We’ll use this to build and manage characters. Join the game’s Discord server – All communication, scheduling, and sessions will happen here. Be ready to use voice chat on Discord – A mic is needed, but no webcam is required. That’s it! No software to download beyond Discord, and everything else will be taught as we go. Come as you are—we’re here to have fun and tell a great story together.

What Rob the DM brings to the table

This game is all about collaborative storytelling, character-driven choices, and a world that listens and responds to your actions. I’ll be providing ambient music, custom artwork, and full access to the Daggerheart campaign book through Demiplane—everything you need to immerse yourself in the Borderlands. I run games with a focus on narrative, mood, and emotional beats. Expect a mix of exploration, meaningful choices, and dynamic, fast-paced combat where the fiction matters as much as the dice. Daggerheart encourages creativity within structure, so we’ll lean into the intent of the rules to support great roleplay and dramatic moments. You'll hear character voices, get vivid scene-setting, and experience a tone that blends mythic frontier mystery with personal storytelling. My goal is to create a space that’s safe, welcoming, and full of strange beauty—where you can tell a story that matters to you.

Homebrew rules

Since Daggerheart is still new, we’ll be sticking closely to the core rules as written for now—no homebrew mechanics or major rule changes. This helps us all learn the system together and keeps things consistent and fair across the table. That said, I’m always open to cool character concepts, creative choices, and narrative flexibility within the system.

Safety

How Rob the DM creates a safe table

This game is built on trust, respect, and collaboration. Before we begin, I’ll be sharing an RPG Consent Checklist that each player can fill out privately. It helps us set clear boundaries and ensure everyone feels comfortable with the story we’re telling. We’ll go over safety tools, tone, and expectations in Session 0, including how we’ll handle intense moments, share the spotlight, and check in with each other throughout the game. If anything ever feels uncomfortable—during play or after—you’re always welcome to message me privately, speak up, or ask for a pause. This is a consent-first, LGBTQ+ inclusive table. Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and excited to be here. If we need to adjust anything along the way, we will—together.
