If I had to narrow down what I find makes Rob an excellent GM, it would have to be his ability to match each player's energy and his willingness to meet everyone where they are at. And when you are playing with a group of randomly assembled strangers, I can't think of a more essential skill than that. Not to diminish the fact that he created a world that begs to be explored and a cast of NPCs that feel distinct, unique and connected to it. In fact, he uses these components to great effect combined with the ability to walk with each of us to tell a consistently engaging story. I feel like I always get out what I am willing to put in with him and it's been a wonderful experience. Plus he's just a generally lovely human to get to know.
