About the adventure
In a world broken by ancient catastrophe—a land where magic is powerful, unpredictable, and often dangerously alive. Echoes of the past linger in streets, stones, and even memories. Forgotten gods stir beneath the surface. Cities fight to hold on to order as corruption spreads in forms both arcane and political. This campaign invites you into a living, breathing setting shaped by mystery, consequence, and choices that matter. In this story-driven adventure, players step into a world where not everything is as it seems. Memory itself can be unreliable. Maps shift. Old wounds refuse to stay buried. You’ll explore desert metropolises built atop buried ruins, scholar-cities powered by ancient artifacts, wandering carnivals that bargain in memories, and quiet towns where whispers carry further than footsteps. Investigations, moral dilemmas, and unexpected alliances are at the heart of the journey. When the truth reveals itself, it often does so with teeth. This game is perfect for players who enjoy a mix of combat, exploration, and roleplay—with a strong emphasis on mystery, character-driven storytelling, and cinematic moments. You don’t need to be an expert at D&D to join; new and returning players are welcome. I run with a “player-forward” style: your ideas shape the world, your choices matter, and the story adapts dynamically to your decisions. If you want a campaign that rewards creativity, curiosity, and bold actions, you’ll fit right in. Expect a friendly atmosphere at the table, but tension and stakes in the world itself. You’ll investigate strange phenomena, confront powerful threats, and uncover secrets long thought lost to time. Whether you’re tracking a pale predator through moonlit canals, navigating political plots in a shattered empire, or diving into ancient vaults where echoes still scream, Veltryss offers adventure with weight, wonder, and consequences. If you’re ready to carve your legend into a world that remembers everything—you’re home.

About me
I have been playing table top games for about 22 years now and i have been running both in person and online tabletop games for about half that time. it all started with pathfinder first edition honestly and i fell in love with TTRPGs with my first session. Over the years as a player i always knew i wanted to world build and run games but i didn't start running any games until i was in my 20s already and by that point i had been playing long enough that i felt confident in my abilities as a player. Running my first game however resulted in having to retcon an entire TPK because i accidentally destroyed my entire adventuring party with a creature that was too high of a challenge rating. I have learned a lot about running games since then and now enjoy the world building aspect of the games i have been running with players who really enjoy the way i run my games.

Creating your character
Character creation will happen before session one starts in session 0, stats will be decided by manually rolled dice either with real dice or on DND Beyond's dice roller, 4D6 drop the lowest and if there are more than 2 stats lower than 10 reroll the whole set. Characters will be created on DND Beyond and all source materials i have available will be usable for character creation. If a player wants a non stock character image/token for roll 20 they are welcome to make one in hero forge and submit it to me for use in the game.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need to join my Discord server where i will have links setup going to my VTT which is Roll20 and DND Beyond where they will make their characters. Optionally they can make a character image on hero forge to use as their token and profile image in their character sheet.
What Kenneth brings to the table
I do voices when appropriate and if i think i can make the voice sound right, but i do have a voice modulator that i use if i feel like i need to. I also use KenkuFM for music in the discord call during the game. I am rules flexible for the most part but there are concrete rules i do stick to while there are still plenty of times that rule of cool will win out if the player really wants to be able to do something and can roll well enough to do so.
Homebrew rules
Drinking healing potions are a bonus action for their rolled healing effects, using an action to drink a potion will regain you the maximum rollable amount for the healing potion. Critical hits are rolled in their entirety, so unfortunately even if the rolls are bad we stick to them but i do the same for the creatures in combat. If you are out of spell slots you can choose to burn exhaustion for up to that level of spell that you can cast. In essence if you wanted to cast a 4th level spell you can give yourself 4 levels of exhaustion to cast it if you are fully out of spell slots but not before you have absolutely zero spell slots left. As far as death saves are concerned you can choose to die heroically by sacrificing your death saves to gain stackable advantage on whatever you choose to do or imposing stackable disadvantage on an opposing creature to do as much damage before you go out completely. you do die if this happens you can however be resurrected for a penalty to yourself of 2 points of exhaustion if you go this route.

How Kenneth creates a safe table
I have a lines and veils document setup that is a form fillable pdf that players can download which i will go over in detail during the session 0 of the campaign. During session 0 is when we will also go over how to create a character and getting the players logged into their respective websites like Roll20 and DNDBeyond. Breaks can be asked for whenever someone needs one or if someone needs to step away for a moment we can pause the game.
