About the adventure
All proceeds from this workshop, for the month of February, will be going to the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund (IRRF), a community-funding charity assisting immigrants in Minnesota. 🎭 Unlock the Power of Roleplay! Workshop for TTRPG Players and Game Masters 🎲 Are you looking to deepen your roleplaying experience and create more compelling characters in your TTRPG adventures? This Workshop series is designed for players and Game Masters who want to enhance their skills, and bring their characters to life like never before. 🔮 What You'll Learn: - Acting Techniques: Discover how to embody your character fully, from motivation to facial expressions, for a more immersive roleplaying experience. - Accents and Voices: Learn how to create distinct and believable voices for your characters, adding depth and personality to your roleplaying. - Improvisation Skills: Master the art of thinking on your feet and reacting in character, making your gameplay more dynamic and engaging. For the specific focus of this workshop session, check out this listing's party notes below! 📷 Please note that cameras are required for these workshops. 📷 ------- Hi there! I'm Solly KP aka Salman Corbette. I'm a professional game master of course, but I've also spent more than a decade in improvisational theatre, where I've played, voiced, and directed hundreds of spontaneous characters in front of live audiences. I've taught hundreds of students the fundamentals of characterization, roleplay, and improvisation. And now I can teach you too! "I went to Corb because he offered a workshop for improv and voice acting. I came in as the only stranger, and he was able to immediately make me feel welcome. That in itself is noteworthy." - Alex "I got to hop in an improv workshop this week and it was a great experience. Corb was prepared and as mastery level knowledge of the craft and art of improv. I learned a few things and had a blast. I’ve been GM-ing for years and got a chance to learn and practice some new things. Absolutely recommend attending for any skill level." - Eric V "This is the kind of seminar where taking it once isn't going to give you the full experience of what both players and DMs can get from the experience. Corbette is very skilled at his craft, but where he's particularly skilled is in drawing the emotion and acting from his students in the process of his exercises. He works with you as things develop, and he takes the time to make sure that they are getting good things out of it." - Shawn AKA Fluffy ------- Don't have time for a workshop? About me
🦎 He/Him 🦎 StartPlaying's resident roleplay expert, with over a decade of experience performing, directing, and teaching theatrical improvisation. Based out of Montréal, Québec. Aside from running RPGs, I also offer roleplaying workshops and coaching sessions. If you would like to commission a session for you and/or your players and/or other GMs, please DM me. Or keep an eye out for my free webinars! I'm also a published children's author. I can play the piano, ukulele, and guitar. I beat the final boss in Elden Ring. My favourite apple is Mcintosh. If you enjoy a bit of humour and a focus on growing your character and the world around your character, we're going to be like two peas in a pod. Or two goblins in a cave. Or two owls on a branch. Or two bananas in one peel - which is quite rare, but can happen.

Creating your character
Characters will be spontaneous, of course. This section still needs 111 more characters. Nice weather we're having. Or maybe not. I don't know where you live, nor what you consider "nice".
This workshop is going to focus on focus on storytelling - how to kill stories and how to save them! By joining this workshop you affirm: - You're a cool person and won't engage in any misogyny, ableism, racism, ableism, etc. - You're interested in improving your performative skills - You're down to be a little silly in front of strangers
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should be ready with a discord account, a webcam, and a microphone/headset with NO echo. Otherwise, just your very pleasant face. We like faces.
