About the adventure
You awake in a daze. The smell of carrion fills your nostrils. Your head throbs as you slowly take in the surroundings - a chamber, and in the middle a pile of corpses. A second glance at the bodies and your head begins to swim. Ahead of you lie a dozen branching passageways in all directions. Somewhere deep within the maze a gong sounds, and a panicked voice deep within your soul urges you - run! Play begins in the middle of a massive labyrinth filled with relentless monsters bent on offering your soul as bloodsport sacrifice to Baphomet. In this roguelite adaptation of DnD5e, you have four attempts to find the exit, gather the objects needed to open the gate, and escape - all while avoiding your pursuers, dodging traps, and other denizens of the labyrinth. After each attempt, you reset to the central chamber fully rested and bolstered with knowledge and equipment from your prior forays. If you are successful, you escape with your lives, and any loot you have acquired. If you fail, your souls are devoured by the Labyrinth.

About me
I've been playing and GMing games across a number of game systems and editions for 20+ years. I especially enjoy working with new players and introducing people to the table top roleplaying. I usually like to write my own material because I enjoy world building, but I've also run a number of officially published modules as well as home brew. 5th edition D&D is my current favorite, but if you have other interests let me know. I'm always looking to expand my library.

Creating your character
Please use D&D beyond for character creation. For this game, we will be using the 2024 rules, not legacy rules. If you want to use a legacy feature, please clarify with me ahead of time. You may use either standard array or point buy for ability scores. Each character will begin with their class/background starting equipment, and 1 magic item of uncommon rarity from any 2024 source book. Characters will begin at level 5 unless it is a smaller group. Please have the character finalized at least 2 hours before the start of the session to allow time for me to create token etc...
What to expect
Preparing for the session
For this game, you will need to have or create accounts for: - D&D beyond for character creation and dice rolling. I will send out the link once the game is confirmed. - Discord for voice/video channel - Beyond20 browser extension is very helpful, but not required - I will send out the Foundry VTT link once the game is confirmed

How Samuel creates a safe table
I find pre-written Lines and Veils documents to be both too expansive and not specific enough. I gladly invite anyone with specific concerns or triggers to send those to me ahead of time. Once the entire group has replied, I will send out a group list (including my own) for our Lines and Veils which we will all agree to abide by. If anything is making you uncomfortable, you may enter "X" any time into the chat to end the scene immediately or "N" to let the group know they are boarding on an uncomfortable topic.
