About me
I've been playing DnD 5e since I was in highschool (9 years ago.... I feel old) and slowly but steadily settled into the role of DM. My favourite module in D&D is the Curse of Strahd. My favourite type of players are those who invest in roleplay and think outside the box to solve both puzzles and combat.

Creating your character
When getting stats, and for level ups, you have to call your shot. If you are rolling for stats or health, you have to take the result, regardless of what you get (I will let you do a single mercy roll for any 1s rolled. meaning you can roll it again a single more time. if it's still a 1, the dice gods have spoken.) When going over backstory, I would like to work with my players, to incorporate it into the game.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To play, players are required to have 5 things: -a working microphone -stable internet -Discord -a free Dnd Beyond account -a willingness to play and enjoy the game with others
What Adam brings to the table
I bring a Master's DnDBeyond subscription, which allows me to share with players: -The Curse of Strahd sourcebook -Van Ritchen's guide to Ravenloft (the setting specific Guide book, with racial and subclasses tailored to the Curse of Strahd Setting) As well as extensive knowlegde of the 2014 ruleset
Homebrew rules
I may or may not add to this but my general rules are pretty standard: -Bonus action for potions, but force feeding others is still an actions. -I decide with my players in session 0 if criticals will do double damage, or double dice. -Homebrew can be allowed, but I have to approve it first -I allow bloodhunter -I use a call your shot rule (you have to choose who's getting hit before you roll, this includes multi attack) -Flanking advantage, as cool as it is, will not be a part of this game, due to dealing with mobs. (if you get it, so would they, which is a logistical nightmare) -I don't bother much with encumberance (within limits, normal items you carry I don't mind too much, but if you're trying to carry large or heavy things, it will come up) -GOATS HAVE A CLIMB SPEED (will it ever come up? probably not, but I stand firm on this)

Safety
How Adam creates a safe table
I first and foremost give a content warning, Curse of Strahd is a pretty intense game, with alot of things that people may be uncomfortable. So I first address the group explaining that, then i give a general ask of what are things they are uncomfortable with, and tell them to put down ANYTHING they would not be okay with happening in the campaign. I discuss the safety systems with them, and about how if they are at any point uncomfortable, they can reach out to me, either in private through a direct message, or by saying it in the group, and I will move on to a different topic. My dms are always open if my players need to talk. I keep all things stated as not okay written down to ensure I do not forget even the smallest of triggers when running my games.
