About the adventure
This campaign begins on the far edge of the Clone Wars, where the chaos of the galaxy feels distant but never truly gone. Under the guidance of Jedi Master Tesanda Beyshek—a scholar who questioned the Council’s war-focused priorities—a small expedition of Jedi has traveled to investigate an ancient, newly uncovered temple. Here, far from military staging grounds and political scrutiny, the mission was meant to be academic, contemplative, even hopeful. No battalions march at your heels, no star destroyers shadow your sky. It is this isolation that makes your position both precarious and strangely fortunate when the galaxy changes in a single heartbeat. When Order 66 strikes, the Jedi Order is shattered in an instant—but you are not standing at the center of the storm. Instead, you are caught on the fringe, unprepared, partially forgotten, and momentarily beneath the Empire’s attention. You lack the protection and firepower of a clone escort, but you also lack their guns turned on you. Your distance from the war has spared you from immediate annihilation… and stranded you with no backup, no clarity, and no path home. The campaign is meant to explore the tension of that moment and all the moments that come after. What does it mean to be a Jedi when the Order no longer exists? Will you adhere to your code when doing so could mean discovery and death? Will you seek or accept help from those who claim to still believe in the Jedi even if it could bring the attention of the newly-formed Empire to their door? Can you trust them? The setting will be a mix of legends and canon, as I am old and remember much more about legends than some of the new canon. That being said, canon goes out the window once the game begins as the player characters can impact the shape of the galaxy quite a bit depending on their actions. Gameplay will focus on roleplay, but combat is inevitable and potentially dangerous. Expect to face overwhelming odds where retreat is the best option if encounters are not approached with thought and care. Characters will navigate moral dilemmas, personal evolution, and the challenge of surviving while hunted. New players to the system are warmly welcomed; uncertainty is woven into the story, and characters who must learn, adapt, and grow fit perfectly into this era of upheaval. This is a sandbox campaign, with only the starting point mapped out in any major way as it's meant to serve as a tutorial and introduction for newer players. After that there are some loose plot threads or beats that players may or may not experience, but the overall narrative will be heavily influenced by the character's actions. There is no set end point though I generally aim for about six months, though this depends heavily on the player character's actions and how long the player's wish to continue the campaign. First session is free.

About me
I never got into D&D in the early days—it looked too complicated at first glance, and none of my friends played it. We talked about it, but it felt like the final boss of nerd-dom, and even we weren’t ready. What wasn’t too nerdy for our edgy little selves was Vampire: The Masquerade. Nobody wanted to run it, and I fancied myself a decent writer, so I volunteered. That was that—I became the forever GM, and I’ve never looked back. Since then, the world’s come around, and RPGs have gone mainstream. These days, while I’ve run plenty of D&D, I tend to prefer systems like Genesys, Mothership, or Mythic Bastionland—games that prioritize creativity and storytelling over crunch. Not that I'm rules-averse. I just prefer to tell a story instead of refereeing a war game. What keeps me coming back is simple: I love riffing off what players come up with and building weird, memorable stories together. If you like narrative-first adventures, a dash of humor, and a GM who thrives on the unexpected, let’s roll some dice.

Creating your character
The campaign heavily focuses on Jedi, so you should pick careers from the Force and Destiny Core book or their expansions. If you want to be a non-force user that is fine as well and there will be plenty for you to do, it is just not the "core" focus of this campaign. You are more than welcome to begin character creation before the game starts, but discussing things with other players in the discord is highly encouraged. Session 0 is primarily dedicated to character creation and discussion of the rules, safety tools, and any questions you may have so don't feel like you have to make a complete character before then. Backgrounds for the player character's is important, but doesn't need to be more than a paragraph or two if it's not your jam. Being a role-play focused campaign I do ask that you really think about the character's emotional strength and weakness. I also encourage filling out sections for Desire, Fear, Strength, and Flaw on the character sheet. We will also be using the rules for Knight level play, which means the following: Characters gain an extra 150 XP, which may not be spent on characteristics Characters may train skills to rank 3 (as opposed to the normal rank 2 limitation) Characters gain access to a basic lightsaber or 9,000 credits worth of starting gear This does not mean your characters have to be Jedi Knights, but each of them has some experience under their belt from The Clone Wars.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Before we start, there are just a few things you’ll need to get set up: Discord Account – We’ll be using Discord for all in-game voice communication. If you don’t have an account yet, you can create one for free at discord.com. RPG Sessions Account - You will need a free account at https://rpgsessions.com/. Internet Access – Since this is an online game, you’ll need a stable internet connection. Lag-free goblin fights are much more fun. Microphone & Headset – A decent mic and headphones are essential for clear communication. Please make sure you can mute yourself if background noise becomes an issue. Join the Server – Once you’ve joined the game, I’ll send you an invite to our private Discord server. Pre-Game Chat – We will have a quick “face-to-face” voice chat in Discord before Session 0 (or your first session) to go over the game and make sure our expectations match.
What Krispy Demon brings to the table
I do my best to immerse you in the universe. I do a bit of character voices (not a professional voice actor) and utilize voice changing software a bit to help bring things to life. I tend to stick to ambient noises instead of music to bring scenes a bit more to life, but sometimes music is just more fun or appropriate-especially during combat. I've been playing or running in this system for well over five years, but I am not the greatest at memorizing rules. I tend to lean on Rule of Cool anyway. Rules are important, however, so I aim for balance as much as possible, where the rules serve the narrative but the narrative is not unduly constrained by rules. This is a pretty easy system to learn, though, so with the exception of some specifics that usually come from character talents or abilities, we should be fine. I'm always willing to help with questions you may have in or out of the game. I am not the best at creating "strong" characters as I prefer to build characters that are built around a story that makes sense rather than a mechanically optimized charmer or slayer. That being said, I'm always happy to help with character creation or with spending XP - or any other questions you may have.
Homebrew rules
We will be using an alternate version of the Morality system that encourages actions to move towards the light side instead of the RAW's more passive approach. This generally makes moving towards light side paragon is a slower process and avoiding falling to the dark side requires some effort.

How Krispy Demon creates a safe table
We will be discussing expectations and limits during session zero. If anything comes up that is an issue I am always willing to listen to whatever the issue is and adjust as best as possible. That being said, this campaign is all about struggling with the loss of structure, support, and meaning in one's life. There may be some heavy topics that should be handled with care and respect.
