Creating your character

Along with safety tools you will receive information about he setting and how we will create characters. We’ll create characters together during our Session Zero, starting with a brief overview of the campaign world, key factions, any info from the safety tools, and gameplay style. You’ll have access to all published materials included in my D&D Beyond Players Bundle—plenty of options to explore—but we’ll keep things streamlined by sticking to official content (no homebrew classes or subclasses). We’ll roll stats at Session Zero, using the classic 4d6, dropping the lowest, so you can assign abilities that fit your character’s concept and bring your ideas to life. Part of the fun will be working together to craft relationships and reasons why your characters are adventuring as a group. You’ll get the chance to develop a backstory that fits the world and fuels the shared narrative we’re building. Your character’s journey will be shaped by the choices you make, the world around you, and, of course, the fun we’ll have along the way!

What PalindromeRPG brings to the table

For this game, we’ll use Owlbear Rodeo as our Virtual Tabletop (VTT) and Discord for voice and video (you can keep your video off if you prefer). Players will need a D&D Beyond account, where I’ll share my Players Bundle through the D&D Beyond campaign, giving you access to a wide range of resources and character options. We'll use the 2024 Rules. As a lifelong theatre professional, I’ll bring NPCs to life with unique voices and personalities, making each encounter memorable. My background in storytelling, tension-building, and character development ensures a vibrant, immersive atmosphere. You can expect a mix of character-driven drama and epic moments, with an emphasis on collaboration and shared storytelling. All story narrative will come from your backstories and your in game choices. I’m all about the Rule of Cool over Rules as Written, and the focus is on having a blast together. Combat will be intense but fun, and you can count on me to make every session feel like a dynamic adventure!

How PalindromeRPG creates a safe table

Before Session Zero a Lines and Veils and a Checklist will be sent to all players. I will anonymously present the lines and veils and any info from the checklist that is important for everyone to know in order to inform their backstories. I am available outside of session time for players who might want to check in between sessions. During sessions, players can use the direct chat, if something is concerning.
