Creating your character

Character Creation Process 1. Discussion on Discord • We’ll use Discord as the hub for all character creation talk. • This is where you can ask questions, brainstorm concepts, and get feedback from me and other players. • It keeps everything organized and lets us collaborate before finalizing sheets. 2. Build on D&D Beyond • All characters will be created and managed on D&D Beyond. • You’ll get access to the campaign link so your sheet is automatically shared with me and integrated with Avrae for rolls and combat. • D&D Beyond makes it easy to track abilities, spells, equipment, and leveling. 3. Ruleset: 2024 Player’s Handbook • We’ll be using the updated 2024 D&D Player’s Handbook rules. 4. Starting Guidelines • Standard starting level (as set by the module). • Standard equipment or starting gold (your choice). • Ability scores: use the point buy or standard array system from the 2024 rules. • Align your background and motivations with the campaign’s tone—gritty, high‑stakes, and infernal themes. 5. Integration with Avrae • Once your sheet is on D&D Beyond, Avrae will handle rolls directly in Discord. • This keeps combat smooth and lets you focus on strategy and immersive writing rather than math.

Homebrew rules

• Drinking Potions: You can drink a potion as a bonus action instead of a full action. • Critical Hits: Criticals follow standard 5e rules (double damage dice), but I may introduce story-driven tweaks for special abilities or epic moments.
