About the adventure
You are beginning your first year at the premier military academy for mechanized chassis pilots in the whole of the Federal Karrakin Monarchy: the Karrakin Cavalry College. This might be an honor afforded you by your station, or perhaps you have been sponsored by a Free Company. While everyone technically experiences the same curriculum, how you came to be here will strongly influence how you are received by the rest of the student body, which may have lasting consequences on your burgeoning career as pilots. Your studies will ask much of you, but you mustn't neglect your social life, either. Not simply a matter of well-being, everyone in the FKM lives and dies by their reputation, and appearances must be upheld. Between the numerous formal events held by the college and the making and maintaining of connections with your peers, there will be little time to spare in the waking hours of the day. Truly, it is an honor and a privilege to attend this glorious institution, as well as a challenge only the best of the best of the best will be able to overcome. Still, there may yet be more at play than any of your classmates realize...

About me
Hi! I'm Aletheia, or just Alli for short. I'm a queer, trans woman whose time is largely filled by either playing games or thinking about them. I've been playing TTRPGs for much of my life, over a decade of which has been spent GMing. I got my start in D&D 4e and 5e, but have been exploring and loving other systems since then, such as Lancer and Monster of the Week. I love telling stories with people and seeing what they love about these games and genres and tropes, and I hope to have fun telling stories with you!

Creating your character
We will be using Massiff Press' character builder tool on Compcon.app, with all official material available. Characters will be finalized in session 0, along with any possible connections between player characters, and we'll briefly go over the setting primer. These pilots will be starting at License Level 0.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
This game will be run on Discord and Foundry VTT. You will need to create a Discord account, but will not need a Foundry account. The login for the Forge server Foundry will be hosted on will require a login, which you can use your Discord account for. Access to the Discord server will gained on joining the game, where the link to the Foundry VTT will be listed. Webcams are strongly recommended but not required.
What Aletheia brings to the table
This game contains both a thrilling narrative and some harsh combat challenges. Using the rules as written will allow for a tense game with satisfying payoffs, and the wonderful battle maps and character art provided by the module will allow for tactical gameplay and colorful roleplay. With a huge cast of characters, roleplay is a massive part of this game. We can afford to let scenes stretch on, building to each combat as the natural consequence of the events as they unfold. Each agent in the story has their own goals, and you'll have to keep your eyes peeled to pick up on any ulterior motives.

How Aletheia creates a safe table
During session 0, we'll go over the likely themes in this game, both from the module and from the players' side, as well as how we'll utilize the Luxton Technique should anything not talked about come up mid-session. Each session will have a break somewhere around the middle or as is needed, and after each session we'll take a moment to talk about what happened during it.
