About the adventure

You and your party wake up as strangers with no memory, and we weave the tale of you discovering who you are to each other, and what heroic abilities you all have! It's a fun way for beginners and veterans of D&D to explore the world-building and mechanics of a fantasy ttrpg session without getting bogged down in rules. Plus it'll be a fun, chaotic time! :D This is a lost memory themed one shot for new and experienced players alike! You and your party of 2-4 players start only with your pronouns, no memory of who you are, and NO character sheets (they're with me 😈)! Your session will be spent sleuthing and experimenting as you discover your abilities, identities, and how you got in your predicament. No one shot is ever the same! For experienced players, the session wraps with a little guessing game to see if you can figure out what species/class you were given! NOTE: Can be run as a longer game, if you decide to book me again!

About me

(she/her) I'm a writer, voice actor, and artist with over a decade of roleplaying experience. I love to create fun, positive, and inclusive role-playing experiences where my players feel welcome and safe. All my games are LGBTQ+ friendly! I have the most experience with 5th edition D&D, but I am branching out into other systems so that folks can experience the exciting breadth of gameplay styles across the ttrpg space!

Character creation

Creating your character

Give me your characters pronouns and I will supply the rest! A SESSION 0 introduction is included in price of a one shot, and can be scheduled for the day of the one shot or earlier.

The current party

Your characters will not know each other at the beginning of session, but may find through the game that you share connections of some kind. So come in ready to make some new friends!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Decide on your PC's pronouns, brainstorm a personality you might want to play, but you don't HAVE to plan your character's personality, you might discover the personality of your character as you learn more about them! Come to session with a mind for experimenting and interacting with the world and with roleplaying.

What Angela McCain brings to the table

I will bring my love of storytelling and performance to the table! I use a lot of character voices and love to incorporate music and effects. Depending on how involved the game is, I often have maps as well. For a Virtual Session: Digital (pdf) character sheets, virtual maps and assets. If you are interested, I can also create your characters as a digital mini using HeroForge.com ! For an In Person Session: Printed character sheets, maps, props, miniatures for your heroes and the adventure. I will also provide extra dice and physical character sheets for anyone who needs them.

Homebrew rules

Since you are filling in your character sheet as you go, we will be spending a lot of time playing rules-lite. This game will involve a lot of roleplaying a character who is trying to understand their surroundings. A lot of investigating and deduction to uncover details about your life and about your abilities in order to escape a dangerous situation. If combat occurs, I will be utilizing a homebrew mechanic called "Combat Moments" which will allow you to describe your actions without worrying about combat mechanics.

How Angela McCain creates a safe table

We will be using an online deck of cards that we can establish basic content warnings for myself and the party. As well as during session we'll be using safety tools that you are welcome to use during session.
