About the adventure
Beneath the glittering skyline of Waterdeep—the City of Splendors—lies a secret worth more than a dragon’s hoard. Whispers echo through candlelit taverns and shadowed alleys of a fortune in stolen gold, hidden somewhere within the city’s labyrinthine streets. Whether drawn by greed, curiosity, or destiny, your party finds itself swept into a web of intrigue that stretches from the bustling markets of the Trades Ward to the opulent halls of the noble estates, and deep into the dark heart of the city’s underworld. Rival factions—each with their own agendas—vie for control of the treasure, and your every choice may win powerful allies or unleash deadly enemies. But Waterdeep is no simple den of thieves. Its watchful eyes belong to masked lords, its secrets guarded by magic, and its justice meted out with steel. The city lives and breathes, changing with the turn of every season, and danger hides behind every coin and conversation. To claim the legendary cache of dragons, you’ll need cunning, courage, and no small amount of luck. Whether you become heroes celebrated in song or names whispered in fear will depend on how deeply you dare to chase the gold... and how much of your soul you’re willing to spend to find it. For the Glory of Waterdeep is campaign built and designed for newer players to the Dungeons & Dragons 5E game system. We will be utilizing the 2024 Core Rules to help ensure that players get the most bang ("Was that a Fireball?") for their buck. As the DM, I will endeavor to keep player characters alive as long as is realistically possible, but character deaths are always a possibility. But this just gives us even more opportunities to help you as the player learn to love this game even more.

Meet the Game Master
About me
As an avid storyteller, my entire life has been devoted to the art of writing and telling stories. Starting with my very first introduction to playing Dungeons & Dragon, I was hooked. The act of getting to tell and live collaborative stories with other individuals quickly inspired me to take on the role of being a Game Master. While I really enjoy getting to be on the "player" side of the game, my true passion lies in getting to create and populate fantastical worlds (both published and homebrew) and experience the joy from the players in my group as they interact with those creative elements.

Creating your character
During our Session Zero, players will work together with the DM to create their level 3 characters using the tools provided on D&D Beyond. All D&D books that the DM owns will be available for players to use in the creation of their characters. Character Creation will be done step-by-step with ample explanations given (as needed) to help the players learn how to create their characters.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will be utilizing the following website platforms: - D&D Beyond - Roll20 - Discord - Beyond20 (optional browser extension) Links to all necessary platforms will be provided via Discord once the player has joined the campaign.
What Sarah Flowers brings to the table
As a Dungeon Master / Game Master / Myth Keeper, I enjoy making every session as enjoyable for the players as I possibly can. This will include my utilization of the following: - Character Voices - "Rule of Cool" (rules were meant to be bent in the pursuit of awesomeness) - Tokens, Maps, and Music or Sound Effects - Plenty of exploration, role play, and combat opportunities - Instructions and suggestion for what your character CAN DO, never what they SHOULD DO. - I'll provide the scenarios and opportunities, but the PCs, and their dice rolls, will determine the outcomes. And always a fun place to explore their imaginations!
Homebrew rules
- Flanking rules work for player characters and NPCs, monsters, and villains. - Natural 20s always succeed - Natural 1s always fail (but in a fun way) - Rule of Cool is on a case by case basis. But if it works, it works. - You Can Always Try!!!

How Sarah Flowers creates a safe table
I will give the players a PDF document that they can fill in to let me know what things are okay, which things should have a "fade to black," and which things should not be included at all. I will always do anything I can to protect both my players and their characters.
