About the adventure
At the far edge of the civilized world stands a weathered stone fortress, the Keep on the Borderlands. Its lanterns burn through the mist each night, guiding travelers safely home while the wilderness beyond whispers with untold stories and lurking dangers. Beyond the Keep: A Journey into the Borderlands is a beginner-friendly Dungeons & Dragons campaign using the 2024 D&D rules, designed to gently guide new players into the world of tabletop roleplaying. You’ll learn everything as you play - how to build your hero, roll the dice, and explore the three pillars of D&D: roleplaying, combat, and exploration. Your journey begins at the Keep, where merchants, soldiers, and wanderers cross paths on the frontier. From there, you’ll set out into the untamed lands, uncovering mysterious caves, meeting strange creatures, and shaping your story through the choices you make. Every path leads to discovery, whether that’s treasure, trouble, or a new friend along the way. This game is ideal for first-time adventurers and returning players looking for a relaxed, story-driven experience. Expect immersive narration, ambient music, visual maps, and a welcoming table where questions are encouraged and creativity is celebrated. By the end of the campaign, you’ll have not only survived the Borderlands — but learned what makes D&D magical.

Hey, I’m Trisden. I’ve been running D&D since 2015, and some of my favorite memories are introducing new players to the game. There’s nothing quite like seeing someone roll their first natural 20 when everything’s on the line. I love creating worlds that grow around the players—where choices and backstories shape the adventure as it unfolds. My games blend storytelling and strategy, with plenty of exploration, character-driven moments, and fair, tactical combat that keeps everyone engaged. Creating your character
We’ll create your characters together during Session 0 — no prep needed! If you would like to make a character ahead of time, consider the following: Starting Level: 1 Stats: Point Buy or Standard Array (roll by request) Rules: 2024 Player’s Handbook & Basic Rules (I’ll provide access through DNDBeyond) Choose your name, background, and why your hero came to the Keep. I also provide pre-made characters with easy-to-follow sheets if you prefer.

Preparing for the session
There’s very little to do before we start! Character creation happens together during Session 0, where I’ll guide you step by step. Just make sure you have free accounts on Discord and D&D Beyond, that’s all you need to jump in and play!
