About the adventure
1425 will not be a good year. From the crumbling ramparts and ancient towers of Castle Drachenstein, your master rules a patch of land at the edge of the Balkans, while you lay claim to the town below. This is your domain. But you are not safe. You must protect your holdings by any means necessary. Fend off invaders, deal with interlopers, negotiate with honored guests, travel across the wolf-infested wilderness to meet with allies and rivals. Show them all who truly rules Drachenstein. Welcome to the Hinterlands. They're yours. Now keep them. Check out the trailer: https://youtu.be/L-dTVJWoTbw A short lore video: https://youtu.be/pOtu5rS2MCk

Meet the Game Master
About me
Building cities that bleed since 2005. Hi, I'm Marko. You're here because you're curious and I'm here because I love to tell stories. I've been doing it for two decades, mostly focusing on Vampire: The Masquerade and Vampire: The Requiem, with a bit of Mass Effect as a palate cleanser. I enjoy dark fantasy and have a heavy focus on roleplay, so my campaigns are always atmospheric and moody, with narration designed to push the players into a truly living world. My background in psychology and teaching helps me focus on each player individually, and I love using music and visual aids to immerse the players even more. The most important thing, however, is this: Escapism is king. There are no thinly veiled allegories in my games, no commentaries on real-world issues, no deliberate parallels to anything. Just a group of people getting together to tell a story full of drama and conflict, and have fun doing it. In my experience, this simple truth keeps the table safe and enjoyable. I've linked my YouTube channel below, feel free to check out some of my campaign trailers, character intros, etc. Also, come hang out on Discord! https://discord.gg/kDxMeaEsSM

Creating your character
We'll go through the character creation process before the first session. If you have experience with the system, feel free to start throwing dots at the sheet at any time, using the resources I've provided in Discord. If you're brand new to Vampire: The Requiem, I'm available to message on Discord at any time. Shadows of Drachenstein is more combat-heavy than my other campaigns, so a character with at least some combat ability will make your unlife much easier. The most important thing is for the group to mesh well, so we'll go over the details during session 0. We'll discuss character backgrounds, their mutual relationships, player and GM expectations, player safety etc. If you're joining after the chronicle has already started, the game chat in Discord is always a good place to have all your questions answered and to get a feel for the coterie.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You'll need a stable internet connection, a free Discord account, and a decent microphone. Webcams are not required, but welcome. You don't need to be familiar with the system, or even own d10 dice. Requiem has a very flexible set of rules which are easy to learn. You can find all necessary resources on our Discord when you join the chronicle.
What Marko [Anaxis Games] brings to the table
Custom artwork for all important NPCs and locations, an atmospheric soundtrack, sound effects, and character voices, as well as two decades of experience of running games. I encourage roleplay, and when combat happens, it's tied to your story. Additionally, we'll be using a world map so we can keep track of the state of your characters' domain.

How Marko [Anaxis Games] creates a safe table
Lines and veils will be discussed during session 0. They are not set in stone. If a new line or veil pops up during gameplay, we'll include it in the list. Breaks and aftercare are always included. All of my sessions usually end with debriefing and casual conversation. As a big proponent of immersive roleplay, I enjoy setting scenes in which the players can dive into the emotions and thought processes of their characters, so sessions offer a good amount of that. Needless to say, willingness to play a blood drinking creature of the night is a must.
