About the adventure

You’ve set sail across the waters of Faerûn. Maybe you sought adventure. Maybe you were visiting family. Maybe you were being shipped off for crimes you may (or may not) have committed. Whatever the reason, fate had other plans. A violent event shattered your vessel, leaving you and a few other survivors stranded on a mist-surrounded island far from any hope of rescue. The ocean horizon fades into grey, and whispers tell of dragons, both noble and wicked, locked in a conflict older than memory itself. What will you do when you discover that your shipwreck was no accident? Can you survive the island’s secrets, or will you become one of its many forgotten souls? *** This adventure follows Dragons of Stormwreck Isle, the perfect entry point for new players to D&D. You’ll start with a level 1 character and dive into an island teeming with monsters, ancient ruins, mysterious allies, zombies, and, of course, dragons. If that sounds like your kind of adventure, welcome aboard. I’ll be your host, guide, and storyteller on this journey through storm and scale.

About me

Hi there, the name's Gene, and it would be my pleasure to be your GM! I've been in the world of roleplaying games for well over 10 years, and I've been a storyteller at heart throughout. If you're looking for a place where you can immerse yourself fully, then I am happy to be of service. Let's make some great stories worth remembering!

Character creation

Creating your character

You may create your character using either D&D Beyond or Foundry VTT. I’m happy with either, choose what’s more comfortable for you. We will use the 2024 D&D rules. Allowed content includes: All modernised / updated rulebooks (e.g. PHB 2024, Eberron: Forge of the Artificer, Heroes of the Forgotten Realms, etc.). Content explicitly marked as compatible (Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything (TCE), Xanathar’s Guide to Everything (XGtE), Monsters of the Multiverse (MotM) and other compatible 2014 extended rulebooks) Legacy content is not allowed. I generally prefer to avoid homebrew. Small, flavour-only tweaks are fine. Anything mechanical → ask first. Partnered content must be approved before use (Grim Hollow, The Crooked Moon, other third-party partnered subclasses, races, or classes) as it can clash badly with campaign tone, balance, or themes. If in doubt → ask. I’m open, just cautious.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You’ll need: A Discord account (for voice and chat) A D&D Beyond account (for character sheets) You don’t need any paid subscriptions or extra tools; everything will be shared with you.

What Gene brings to the table

Expect atmospheric music, a few questionable character voices, and plenty of opportunities for creative roleplay and exploration. I follow the Rule of Cool over rigid RAW when it makes the story more fun, but combat and dice rolls will be handled cleanly through D&D Beyond. You can expect balanced combat, downtime for character moments, and an open world that rewards curiosity and bold choices.
