About the adventure
This game will be set in Exandria, the world built by Matthew Mercer, and explored through the campaigns in Critical Role. The specific details of where we will be playing will be determined in session Zero, and will be affected by the characters you choose to play. Your character's stories, and their relationships with each other as they adventure will be the main focus of the campaign. BEGINNERS WELCOME! I am an experienced dungeon master, and I LOVE bringing new players into the game! If you've never played before, PLEASE don't let that stop you from signing up! About me
The name is Lyca, and I want to play a game with YOU! I've been playing ttrpgs for pretty much my entire life- My parents got me started when I was 2 years old!- and I started running games for other people when I was 12. I've learned a thing or two about running games over the years, and there's nothing I find more joy in than running a game. I particularly helping people learn to play D&D for the first time. D&D is a system that's near and dear to my heart, and I'm always open to running a new campaign. I enjoy roleplay, story telling, and world building the most. Combat is fun and can present interesting challenges, but I use it as a tool, not the end-all-be-all of games. So if you prefer to focus on your character and their story, then I would love to work with you.

Creating your character
Character creation will be done through D&D Beyond, and campaigns will start at level one. We will reference D&D sourcebooks, but the Taldorei Reborn and Guide to Wildemount in particular. If you only have access to the base content, that is ok! That will be sufficient for play. I also have content sharing on for my campaigns in D&D beyond, so you will have access to all the material I own.

Preparing for the session

What DM Lyca brings to the table
I will set the scene for my players using storytelling, voices, and a variety of fun NPCs! A majority of my games are roleplay-centered, with combat sprinkled here and there. We also will focus on the stories of each character, and how they interact as a group.
Homebrew rules
We will be using the same house rules as are used in the Critical Role streams, including drinking potions as a bonus action, and difficulty of resurrections increasing the more often you die. Other house rules may be added as we play, depending on what works best for the group.
