About the adventure
Anyone is welcome to join regardless of experience level! I will happily teach the system to newcomers and the setting is entirely my own. In the year 1980 the town of Geronimo, PA suffered an illness that wiped out two-thirds of its already small population. Shortly after, a freak accident left the town partially in ruins and brought many secret government organizations into the mix. A majority of the remaining citizens left to find better living conditions however a few remained to keep the town running, although barely. As of the year 2000, the town and its inhabitants are long forgotten by the public. Those who have visited remark that strange things happened to them there, from the odd people there to the way that technology seems to have its own mind within its streets. This campaign will have you unraveling the mysteries of this town and the pasts of your characters. Complete with battlemaps, music, ambient sounds, Foundry tricks, supplementary materials, and more!

About me
My name is Celine, I'm a transfem so first and foremost I am very minority friendly and always willing to adapt to any needs for the table. I am a huge dork, I love all sorts of media from fantasy to horror to science fiction though I have a particular love for the Halo franchise and vampire fiction. I've been writing and DMing ever since I was a kid, starting with online games well over a decade ago. To this day I play with friends and family and run games for some communities when asked, both online and in-person. Over time I've learned a plethora of systems and now I've been to college for creative writing and I believe myself to be well-prepared to DM your next game. Personally I have a no-AI art policy for my own work although I am not an artist myself so typically any resources used will be from game assets, community assets, or other resources available. All communications will be via Discord and games will be done on FoundryVTT if applicable.

Creating your character
After you book your session, add me on Discord @arachne_ and I will answer any questions you may have and I will guide you through character creation using the website Dholes' House ( https://www.dholeshouse.org/ ). You do not need access to any of the books, however it is recommended that you pick up a copy of the 7e Investigator's Handbook which is free digitally on Archive.org. The Keeper's Rulebook is very useful to have handy as it is the core rulebook of the game however it is also pretty expensive to buy so I do not require it. After I get a good vibe check from you and your character is complete, we will run a brief (roughly 5-10 minutes) and **FREE** expository session over Foundry and I will add you to the Discord server!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
If you're new to the game I highly recommend learning the basics of the system. While I am more than willing to teach, it can slow the game down a lot for you and the other players if we are regularly stopping to go over the basic rules. Please get in contact with me if you'd like easy to digest resources to learn or have any questions about the game and how to learn it. Other than that, all you really need is a stable internet connection, a Discord account, and a microphone!
What Celine brings to the table
All of my games will have visuals throughout, be it just a backdrop that shows the area you're in or a battlemap when needed. I love immersing the players as much as possible so I use things like fog of war, lighting, ambient sounds, music, and all sorts of Foundry tricks to get you as engaged as possible. For Call of Cthulhu my combat is quick and deadly, encouraging creative solutions over just number-crunching. I roleplay all characters and try to keep them as engaging as possible. That said, I am NOT a voice actor so if you are looking for Matt Mercer levels of acting, while I will try my best it may not be up to par. This particular campaign will feature supplementary materials provided by me! These will allow for extra gameplay by providing puzzles, clues, and worldbuilding between sessions. This may include videos, websites, images, scavenger hunts, and more! All of these are completely optional, so there is no pressure to engage with the campaign at all between sessions. I try to keep my games running as quickly and smoothly as possible, and while I can't control the pacing exactly due to table needs I try to make sure that you get as much story and roleplaying as possible so you get the most bang for your buck.
Homebrew rules
Homebrew rules will be discussed prior to the first session of the game. I will not implement any changes to RaW unless all players agree.

How Celine creates a safe table
Because I write all of my sessions one at a time catered to the party, I will get an idea of what is OK and what is not OK to bake into the game prior to the session via a Lines and Veils document. I would like to note, however, that this particular campaign intentionally touches on a lot of dark topics mostly related to mental illness and trauma. I do my best to be tasteful and meaningful with my use of dark themes however I understand that not everyone can handle this. I also use the X, N, & O system. This can be verbal or over Discord or in Foundry chat. No questions asked, I will accommodate to this. At the end of the day this game is for your own enjoyment and if you find yourself not having a good time it is my duty to change that. Before sessions I will go over any content warnings for that day and make sure everybody is in an okay headspace prior to playing. Breaks are whenever the players ask and I will ask if we need them hourly. During break time I will be present for players to voice any thoughts, problems, or concerns before resuming. After session I will make sure everyone is alright, give ample time for thoughts, comments, or concerns, and upon request I can run a short cooldown roleplay session. On top of this, the doors are always open! You are free to DM me at any point about anything at all, and if you find that the campaign is too much or not to your liking you are welcome to drop in and out as needed. If you'd like a safety system put in place be it for you or the whole table, I am more than happy to do so! Again, at the end of the day this is for your own enjoyment and I will do as much as I can to keep you safe and comfortable.
