About the adventure
In the wake of the brazen, public murder of Replicant patron saint Aster Lambros, peaceful protests have begun appearing all across town. When credible information comes in that one of these protests is the target of shadowy forces intent on creating panic and chaos, it is up to the RDU night shift to find and stop them before innocents are hurt. You're a hard-bitten Blade Runner from the Rep-Detect Unit with your hands full already, but a call from a patrol officer who believes they have stumbled on the terror cell aiming to commit violence sets you in motion. You only have a very short window of time to find and stop them. Will you save the city from descending into violence and chaos?

About me
I teach in College, and it always astounds me that I've been playing ttrpgs for longer than my students have been alive - by a lot. That's over thirty years of rolling dice and creating worlds and making funny voices at a table surrounded by friends! I've mostly been a GM or DM for most of those, and creating worlds, writing adventures, and sharing them with a group of people who then get to make them their own and take them in totally unexpected directions has been one of my great joys. I currently stream several games on Twitch with Folk&Myth, the AP Production studio I co-founded. You can find all my work on twitch or YouTube (links on my webpage). I love creating a sense of discovery and wonder in my games, and always strive to surprise players. I prefer RP-heavy games, though I also believe that combat and conflict resolved through tactics or dice-rolls can be a great source of fun, and add a great dynamic to any game. My strengths are imagination, NPC role-play, my sense of humor, and my ability to keep surprising players. As a teacher, I also have a strong sense of conflict resolution, and the ability to help guide along people with less experience. I strive to create meaningful games, rich in atmosphere and engaging themes. I strongly believe in a sense of equality and respect around my table, and provide safety tools to help us all better enjoy our gaming moments. TTRPGs are all about a shared sense of creation and storytelling, where we empower each other around the table to create meaningful and emotional connections. I invite both players new to the hobby, as well as veterans, to come join me on some fun adventures! I specialize in the following games: Vaesen, Blade Runner, Lord of the Rings 5e, Shadowrun 3rd, Kult: Divinity Lost, Dragonbane, D&D 5E, as well as a host of others. I'm always happy to learn a new system for special requests! Find me here: https://linktr.ee/TheBleakseason

Creating your character
Players will choose from a number of pre-generated character stats, but provide names and backgrounds for their Investigator. This will be handled via Discord prior to the game, and/or during Session 0.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need to have a Discord account and be willing to join my game server where I get everything organize, and where we play. That is all players will need to prepare.
What Bleakseason brings to the table
We play in Discord. Players are welcome to use pen & paper, and to roll physical dice. I will provide all the rules for play and character creation. For VTT, I use Owlbear which doesn't require anything from the players except to click on a link. I use several maps, including animated ones if the players' computers can handle them. Cameras are encouraged but not required. I use a library of of music that I play through Discord for the players, and make use of non-AI generated images for character portraits and atmosphere. I tend to embrace Rule of Cool, and while I mostly stick to the rules in the book, I do have some variations which I will explain up front. I will also provide a rules cheat sheet. I prioritize RP and skill use over combat, but there may be a bit of combat here and there.
Homebrew rules
I use the Blade Runner: TRPG rules pretty much as written, with only minor alterations. I do run the game in a somewhat more free-flowing structure than the game tends to call for.

How Bleakseason creates a safe table
Each player will fill out a list of their Lines & Veils. The card system is used in chat. The L&V will be shared anonymously to everyone. I take comfort and safety *very seriously*, and will expect players to do the same. The world of Blade Runner is a dark place, and we take all precautions to travel it safely. We will dedicate time at the end of the session for a come-down chat! While I don't normally hold Sessions 0 for One-Shots, the players can meet each other - and me, through my Discord, and I will be available for meetings as required. I will be available at all times to answer questions and discuss the contents of the game with players. As a professional streamer of TTRPG APs, safety and comfort are core to my approach to online games.
