About the adventure
The holy city of Elturel has disappeared from the Forgotten Realms and descended into Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells. This event came about as the result of an infernal bargain between the archdevil Zariel, who rules Avernus, and the treacherous High Overseer of Elturel, Thavius Kreeg. Zariel is capturing cities and using their citizens as fodder in the ongoing conflict between demons and devils known as the Blood War. Next on Zariel’s list of cities is Elturel’s neighbor, Baldur’s Gate. You are a party recruited by the Flaming Fist in Baldur's Gate to get to the bottom of a series of cult murders in your city and the city of Elturel. Little do you know, you are about to be trapped between a scheming devil and the forces of the Dead Three, in a race against time to decide the fate of the entire city. 🔥 A sprawling story that will take player characters from Level 1 to Level 13 🪄 Official module materials and character creation sources from Wizards of the Coast 🌎 Third party interactive battle maps, themed music and custom player tokens 🎦 Theatrical narrative storytelling and a dedication to detail 🖥️ A bespoke Foundry experience that makes learning D&D mechanics a breeze and keeps combat moving smoothly 🗡️Beginner-friendly while still engaging more experienced players 🏳️🌈 Inclusive environment for all identities, in and out of game If you're a fan of Baldur's Gate 3, join the game that kicks off the BG3 story--set just before the events of the game, Descent into Avernus tells the story of Elturel and will cement you character's place as a hero of the Forgotten Realms...if you make it out of the Hells in one piece! 🎮A weekly campaign played on Foundry VTT and Discord 🎮FREE Session 0 for the party to meet, learn the basics and decide how they're connected to Baldur's Gate and one another

About me
Hi there, I'm Caitlin! I've been playing D&D for over half my life and I first DM'ed for my stepbrother and his friends in high school, got the TTRPG bug and have been happily playing ever since. I love Dungeons & Dragons, but in my time playing my horizons have expanded and I also would be thrilled to share a game of Star Wars 5e, Warhammer 40k or Daggerheart with you! Bringing new players into the game and exposing them to the joy and wonder of TTRPGs is one of my favorite aspects of being a DM, but I also love grabbing a table of experienced chaos goblins and seeing where they take our adventure! Everyone is welcome at my table, except those who would make others feel unwelcome. I'm a firm believer that TTRPGs are a huge benefit to our mental health and our overall wellbeing, and I view my games as a bubble of escapism and safety from whatever else might be going on in your life. That is to say, you'll be safe. I make no guarantees about your characters! 💀 I am a fun first, rule of cool DM and I enjoy the roleplaying and immersion that comes with running games, so expect music and atmospheric VTTs and my best attempts at accents for the NPCs I voice. I also embrace the sandbox side of games like D&D and very much leave where the session goes up to my players. Even if running a pre-written module, chances are it will be at least tweaked to allow as much player freedom as possible.

How Caitlin creates a safe table
Every player needs to fill out a consent form before Session 0--this is non negotiable. The forms will be kept anonymous. Every player needs to read and acknowledged the Lines and Veils list in our Discord server. My games are welcoming, inclusive places for every player. The only players who aren't welcome are those who are unwelcoming to others, and go out of their way to exclude other players, make the party uncomfortable or just to be a jerk. Respect is the word of the day--respect each other, don't fuss and whine about using preferred names/pronouns, don't be an edgy mc edgelord and say stuff just to get a reaction. All of the things I just listed will result in you being removed from the party and the game. That being said, I pride myself on my tables being friendly, chill, and not all that serious.
