About me
Hi, I’m Brady. I’m newer to TTRPGs as a player, but I’ve watched a lot and played video games based on similar systems. I’m mainly here to meet new people and get into some collaborative storytelling. My natural vibe is a serious, mature exterior with a more playful, easygoing personality underneath. I enjoy teamwork and hope I come across as warm and easy to get along with. I don’t have a strong preference yet between combat and roleplay, I just prefer combat not to drag forever. I’m happy for the DM to manage party dynamics, and I accept rulings in good faith even when I disagree. I’m definitely a “vanilla” player starting out, open to most party roles and willing to adapt to whatever the group needs. High fantasy isn’t usually my first choice, but I get that it’s the most common setting and I’m fine with that. I don’t monologue or full-on “act” my characters; I play more from my own personality or from a simple moral alignment approach. What I bring to the table is a collaborative spirit. I like supporting others, playing to my strengths, and helping the group shine. I treat everyone with respect and value a table where people can be themselves. If a joke ever goes too far or I accidentally make someone uncomfortable, I’m willing to own it and adjust. I’m in the New York timezone and prefer consistent weekly games. I have time to prep between sessions, and I just wanted to finally give this hobby a real try.

I joined Martin’s campaign after finding it through the forums, without knowing him or any of the other players, and I’m glad I took the chance. This is my first real D&D campaign, and coming from Baldur’s Gate and Pathfinder, it feels like what I always imagined tabletop D&D would be. Martin’s biggest strength is collaborative storytelling. His worldbuilding is engaging, but he also pushes players to invest in it and gives back what you put in. If you build a character with real motivations and history, he’ll find ways to weave that into the larger story. He plays close enough to the written rules that the game feels grounded, but never so rigidly that it feels like a video game. His NPCs are thoughtful or hilariously improvised, and even combat stays theatrical, with enemies heckling bad rolls and reacting to the party. He shares the spotlight well, creates an accommodating table, and has pushed me to grow as a roleplayer and let the dice help shape who my character becomes.
