About the adventure
Phandelver & Below: The Shattered Obelisk - A Journey from Classic Fantasy to Cosmic Horror! Welcome, brave adventurers, to a campaign that begins with the familiar charm of classic Dungeons & Dragons and spirals into an epic confrontation with forces from beyond the stars! This game is perfect for both new players eager to learn the ropes of D&D in a supportive environment, and experienced adventurers looking for a rich story that evolves from traditional fantasy challenges into something truly unique and mind-bending. Setting & Theme: Our journey kicks off in the quaint, timber-framed town of Phandalin, nestled in the Sword Coast. You'll start by tackling goblins, exploring ancient mines, and protecting innocent townsfolk – all the beloved hallmarks of D&D fantasy! However, as your heroes grow in power and unravel deeper mysteries, the campaign takes a thrilling turn. The true threat isn't just lurking in a dragon's lair or a bandit camp; it's an insidious, psionic evil emanating from a long-buried, shattered obelisk. This introduces elements of cosmic horror, twisting the familiar into the terrifying as you confront aberrations, mind flayers, and realities that will challenge your very sanity. Expect a blend of dungeon crawling, investigation, social interaction, and pulse-pounding combat, all against a backdrop that shifts from high fantasy to eldritch dread. How We Play: My table is all about collaborative storytelling, character development, and having a blast! We'll prioritize player agency, meaning your choices genuinely matter and can steer the narrative. I aim for a balance of roleplaying moments where your characters can shine, tactical combat encounters that keep you on your toes, and intriguing puzzles to solve. I believe in a rule-of-cool approach, where creative solutions and epic descriptions are always encouraged. We'll build a safe and inclusive space for everyone to explore their characters and the world. Expect a good mix of tension, humor, and moments that will leave you gasping! Come ready to delve into danger, forge unbreakable bonds, and face an evil that threatens more than just your lives—it threatens your very minds. This campaign will take characters from Level 1 to Level 12, offering a complete heroic arc from humble beginnings to legendary status. Are you ready to discover what truly lies beneath Phandalin?

About me
"The Forever DM" After hearing that enough times, I started feeling bad for my DMs. Rightfully so, a lot of work goes into Dungeon Mastering and I thought "There is no way they are having fun not getting to play". I made it a goal that I would try and learn how to DM to repay the very DMs that allowed me to play at their tables for so long. Months of reading manuals and I had a vague understanding of what goes on, on the other side of the screen. Needless to say, I worked up the courage and finally asked them all to join. I was terrified of making a mistake with the judging eyes of my mentors surrounding me. The game began and within minutes I was a fish in water. I found out that for me GM'ing is just as much fun as playing and I have been doing it ever since. Around this same time I had a spinal issue and became bed ridden. I started losing my mind after I watched everything on Netflix multiple times. I learned I could still play D&D digitally. I had the Dndbeyond app to roll dice and the gm or a player would move my character on the screen. I can't tell you how much escaping into these fantasy worlds saved my sanity. I now had a glimmer of hope and I dove all in trying to master the game. Humbly, I do not think you can master the game, but I payed my dues to be called a Dungeon Master. Now, I offer you the expertise of a man who could do nothing else for years. Please join us at the table and imagine.
