About the adventure

The party follows rumors of town where they can make a name for themselves and find untold wealth in a dungeon the town is built over. The rumors tell of the endless waves of undead found wandering the halls below guarding the secrets of the deepest parts. And no matter how many are destroyed the numbers of undead never seem to diminish. Sometimes adventurers go in but don't return to the surface. As the party delves into the dungeon they will recieve a call for help from a mysterious force deep in the mist shrouded forests around the town. It requires a certain item from the dungeon's treasures. As they dive into the dark they will be facing off against the undead hordes and discovering more about the dungeon and how it came to be haunted by those creatures. This will be a short run campaign in a world created specifically for the campaign. New players are encouraged as it starts at level one. Veterans are also welcome as the campaign has some homebrew that will keep you guessing as to what is really going on. It will focus on a dungeon so it will be a combat heavy but plenty of chance for roleplay.

About me

I've been an avid D and D fan since I was 19. I started DM-ing for a group of friends and fell in love with being able to tell a story and help my players shape how it all unfolds. After that I branched out into other systems suchs as Dark Heresy, Call of Cthulhu, Traveller and Pathfinder to name a few. Since having kids I have slowed down on being a Game Master but recently I have found myself with a wealth of free time and have a desire to run games again. I spend hours at work world building and designing scenarios for a daring group of adventurers to find out the secrets of. I have tons of notebooks filled with the mad scribbled down ideas that would make for a good social encounter.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will have a session zero to help any who need it with character creation but using DND beyond to make a level one character from the basic Player's Handbook prior to the session is acceptable. Standard rolls rolled in the app.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a DND beyond app as well as discord for voice.

What Andrew Ferrell brings to the table

I prefer Rule of Cool to Rules as Written as it provides more narrative options. This will be one of my first campaigns that is more on rails than anything else I run but exploration is still an option.

Homebrew rules

Death saves a rolled behind the screens by me. It makes the stakes for a downed Player Character a bit higher if they do not know how far from death they are.

Safety

How Andrew Ferrell creates a safe table

Session zero to set ground rules for everyone to feel comfortable. X cards are a great way to stop the action and skip ahead if something gets to be to much and I love the open door. If you have to walk away do so, I won't ask only that you are ok.
