About the adventure
This will be a long-term campaign for a group of roleplay-focused players following the Beyond the Witchlight module. No knowledge of the D&D system or the module required! Beginners are encouraged to join, and this campaign will be a welcome place for women, neurodivergent folks, and those who are LGBTQIA+.

About me
The name is Lyca, and I want to play a game with YOU! I've been playing ttrpgs for pretty much my entire life- My parents got me started when I was 2 years old!- and I started running games for other people when I was 12. I've learned a thing or two about running games over the years, and there's nothing I find more joy in than running a game. I particularly helping people learn to play D&D for the first time. D&D is a system that's near and dear to my heart, and I'm always open to running a new campaign. I enjoy roleplay, story telling, and world building the most. Combat is fun and can present interesting challenges, but I use it as a tool, not the end-all-be-all of games. So if you prefer to focus on your character and their story, then I would love to work with you.

Creating your character

What to expect
Preparing for the session
Most of our communication will be through discord. Please join the server at this link: https://discord.gg/CCAHRTX4wy For this campaign, we will also be using D&D Beyond, so please also create a login there if you have not yet done so.
What DM Lyca brings to the table
For my games, I will narrate scenes and characters in a variety of voices, while we see the visual of the game and roll dice in a digital environment. There will be background music as well, though listening to it will be optional! Overall we will focus on your characters interacting with the world and with eachother. There will be combat, but it's not going to be the focus of the entire campaign.
Homebrew rules
-Drinking a potion is a bonus action -We don't track ammunition, arrows, or rations unless they are specialty items -Other rules might be modified to accommodate the campaign.

How DM Lyca creates a safe table
The main safety tool I utilize is the RPG consent checklist. It's what Start playing references as a 'Lines and Veils' document. It lets me know, privately, what topics I need to avoid, and what topics I need to be cautious with while we are at the table. We also will debrief and discuss at the end of each session, and check in during the game if things seem stressful. Each game will also typically include a break, especially if there is combat.
