Creating your character
Character creation happens before the adventure begins. We start from archetypes which work like premade characters, filling in details before play. Making a unique and exciting character is easy! We'll use the Hero Making rules in Volume 1 to create a custom hero with four themes and up to one adventure theme. The fellowship (that's everyone's characters) also gets its own mini character sheet and a theme!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We'll use discord for voice chat and for dice rolls. You don't have to download the app, but you do have to make an account and test your voice settings before play. You will get an invite link when you sign up! We'll use google sheets for our character sheets. A google account is not required.
What Ryan - Tafelavontuur brings to the table
Learn entirely by playing and having fun. I guide you through the rules as they come up, answer questions on the spot, and make sure you never feel lost. The mechanics fade into the background so that we can focus on your story. I'll walk you step-by-step from character idea to finished character sheet. There's no need to roll for initiative or fight over who goes next; I'll always direct the spotlight and make sure everyone has a chance to shine. You'll always know what you can do next and what's stopping you, and if you're ever confused I'm here with the answer.
