About the adventure
Are you ready to dive into a world where reality bends, logic twists, and every choice echoes with magic? This campaign is designed for 25–35 sessions of adventure, discovery, and delightful chaos. Whether you're brand new to D&D or a seasoned wanderer of the multiverse, you’re welcome at my table. I’m a patient, supportive DM who loves guiding new players as we explore the world’s greatest roleplaying game together. This story unfolds deep within the shimmering, unpredictable realm of the Feywild—a place where beauty hides danger, bargains have teeth, and the strange is simply everyday life. Expect: • The bizarre • The uncanny • The unbelievable • And the kind of moments you’ll talk about long after the campaign ends Characters will journey from humble beginnings to Level 9, uncovering secrets, forging alliances, and navigating a world that delights in bending the rules. While this adventure draws inspiration from The Wild Beyond the Witchlight, it is not the story you think you know. I’ve woven in homebrew elements and shifted the tone toward the eerie, the surreal, and the wonderfully strange. Even if you’ve played or run Witchlight before, you’ll find new surprises waiting behind every curtain of mist. And if you fall in love with your character? This campaign can easily grow into a new arc or module—your story doesn’t have to end here. Players needed to begin: 3 Experience required: None Experience you’ll gain: Plenty If you’re craving a campaign full of mystery, oddity, and Feywild flavor, this is your invitation. Step through the portal—you never know what might be waiting on the other side.

About me
I've been playing D&D 5e since 2019 (mostly as the "forever DM"), averaging 3 - 4 sessions per week (literally hundreds of sessions and/or thousands of hours) for multiple groups independently. I have experience running games for kids 9 - 18, adult groups, and even groups of individuals on the Autism Spectrum. I tend to run a "PG-13 leaning rated R" game that is geared more towards a slightly faster action pace while still leaving room for roleplay. As a DM, I provide full access to all content I have in D&D Beyond and use a mix of D&D Beyond Maps and Roll 20 (depending what might work best for the session). I put homebrew touches on the WoTC modules so even if you've played it or ran it as GM yourself, it will be different with me. I use your background and like to weave pieces into the storyline to make it personal for you as the player and your character. I use safety tools and provide a SAFE SPACE for ALL. ALL are welcomed at my table.

Creating your character
Using the 2024 ruleset, create a Level 1 character using D&D Beyond with 2 Common items and 1 Uncommon item. HP is max for first level and rolled for each additional level, rerolling 1's. Use the following starting stat scores: 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 (or this can be rolled session 0-1 publicly -> Note: I will not accept a previously stat-rolled character) You're story hook will be customized for your character, allowing anyone to jump into this campaign at any time. We'll be covering use of safety tools and character backgrounds during our session 0-1. Content warnings • Murder • Devils / Demons / Fiends / Spiders / Witches • Child Labor • Blood Safety tools used • Breaks • Lines and Veils • Open Door

What to expect
Preparing for the session
I use D&D Beyond Maps (primarily) & Roll20 for gameplay, utilize Discord for updates, file sharing & voice channels. D&D Beyond and the Beyond 20 extension are recommended. Please be familiar with your characters stats and abilities.
What Matt brings to the table
Specifically, I will weave pieces of your character's backstory and personal details into the story to make it personal for you as the player. I gave be given a single sentence or pages of information and I will utilize that precious gold for you (and against you). I voice all my NPCs, and will often utilize music (Opus, Spotify, Syrenscape, and Monument Studios) for ambient sounds and combat music. I am a rule bender and utilize the "Rule of Cool" when it makes sense or adds to a scene. I provide all D&D digital content I have access to via content sharing in a campaign with D&D Beyond. I run a safe and fun environment for all people at all levels! I will also provide maps, monsters, NPC's, artwork, and tokens through Roll20/Discord chat. If you wish to use a custom character token, please send an image to me ahead of time.
Homebrew rules
1. "The rule of cool": I am willing to bend (or break) a rule should it be logically explained following a potential d20 test roll. 2. "The Perkins crit": full damage die + rolled damage die + modifiers 3. "Potions" - Bonus Action to drink for yourself, full Action to serve it to a downed creature. 4. "No flanking" - this makes combat more challenging (however, surrounding and cornering gains Advantage) 5. Immediate roll of 1st Death Saving Throw upon going down
