About the adventure

🚨IF YOU GREW UP IN THE 1980's PLAYING AD&D AND YEARN FOR THE LOOK AND FEEL OF THE ORIGINAL GAME, THIS TABLE IS FOR YOU!🚨 This table is for those who want to revisit playing 1st edition modules with the new 2024 Players Handbook! The list below are the 1st edition modules that will be run during the campaign. They are in alphabetical order and not the order they will be run at this table. However, the first that I will run is B2 - KEEP ON THE BORDERLANDS (Yes, technically this is not an AD&D module but a D&D module - but it is the first module I ever DM'd over 40 years ago and the "Caves of Chaos" really set the standard on a dungeon crawl type of adventure!)😎 After that, it is up to the current players in the campaign...the table is a "first come - first served" type of deal and those at the table at the end of a module get to decide what is run next. That is the way we did it back in the 80's. The image above tells you what module is currently being played. Here is the list of modules I intend to run: ❌ B2 Keep on the Borderlands (Complete) ❌ A1 Slave Pits of the Undercity (Complete) ❌ A2 Secret of the Slaver's Stockade (Complete) ⏳ A3 Assault on the Aerie of the Slave Lords ✔️ A4 In the Dungeons of the Slave Lords ✔️ D1-2 Descent into the Depths of the Earth ✔️ D3 Vault of the Drow ✔️ G1-3 Against the Giants ✔️ I6 Ravenloft ✔️ Q-1 Queen of the Demonweb Pits ✔️ S-1 Tomb of Horrors ❌ S-2 White Plume Mountain (In Progress) ✔️ S-4 Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth

About me

U.S. Navy Submarine Captain that started playing D&D in 1981. Immerse yourself in challenging 3D combat that requires tactical teamwork for victory. Explore and unravel intricate story plot lines set in motion by memorable NPCs. ✔️ Amazing battlemaps are the focus, RP to tie everything together ✔️ Encourages player creativity - "Yes, you can do that!" ✔️ Unique visual aids, ambient music and sound effects 🌐 https://AdmiralAdventures.com/ 🙏 A portion of proceeds supports the Tunnel to Towers Foundation I run most of my campaigns as follows: 📚 Rules as Written (RaW) Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game. ⚔️ Combat Heavy “Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

Character creation

Creating your character

✅ As a new player, creating a character can be intimidating. Two pre-generated characters will be available to choose from if you don't want to create your own. ✅ Take this quick personality test. It will pick your two options that best suites your personality type. https://dungeons-and-dragons-mbti.netlify.app/ ✅ I will walk you through how to use the character sheet during our 1-1 introductory meeting.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

1️⃣ You will need a working microphone and video camera. If background noise is distracting, you may be required to wear a headset and/or use "push to talk." 2️⃣ You will need a Roll20 account (free is fine). You can get one here: https://roll20.net/ 3️⃣ You will need to join the ADMIRAL ADVENTURES discord server here: https://discord.gg/3vSHkX5N2a 4️⃣ Once you have joined the Admiral Adventure Discord server, go ahead and complete the following: ✅ Go to the channel list on the left and select Server Guide. Review each of the Resource sections: - Table Rules - Safety - Refund & Attendance Policy - VIP Program ✅ Go to "Channels & Roles" and acknowledge that you have completed the onboarding. ✅ Go to #👋Introduce-yourself in the Discord server and fill out the requested information. Format is in the 📌 section. ✅ After you have completed the onboarding steps, we will go ahead and do a quick 1-1 chat to see if there are any technical issues with your computer setup as well as to answer any questions you may have. We will also go over your chosen character option in detail so that you will be ready to play in the first session. What Brody | Admiral Adventures brings to the table

✅ Challenging combat (I do have a military background) ✅ Unique and amazing battlemaps ✅ Ambient music ✅ Sound effects ✅ Voice modification for major NPCs

Homebrew rules

✅ Enemy Initiative. Vice making "one roll for an entire group of identical creatures," initiative will be rolled for each individual creature or in some cases, for "a formation" of enemy combatants. ✅ Hit Dice Vice rolling the dice after a short rest (page 186 PHB page 67 of the Basic Rules), you can apply the "average" hit dice value + constitution modifier (same rule used for adding HPs when leveling up). ✅ Break Out. Some monster effects that remove a player's ability to take an action by causing them to be paralyzed, charmed, stunned, etc. can be "broken" by suffering psychic damage instead. The damage taken is based on the monster's CR

Safety

How Brody | Admiral Adventures creates a safe table

Safety cards (X, N, O) are presented as Macros in Roll20. By clicking the macro, the card is whispered to the DM. No one will know except you that it has been activated. My Discord server lists all the additional table rules. You may access it here: https://discord.gg/3vSHkX5N2a
