About the adventure

It has long been known that Tymora, the Goddess of Luck, smiles upon those who take bold risks. Some know her as Lady Luck, and she rewards the daring and the brave, those who venture into the unknown with courage in their hearts. Her favor can turn the tide of fortune, bringing great riches to those she deems worthy. Led by an ancient map, you and your party have penetrated deep into the thick and dangerous jungle and made your way to the Temple of Tymora in search of its fabled riches. But beware, for Tymora’s favor is fickle, and the trials within the temple will test your bravery, wit, and fortune. Will you emerge wealthy beyond your wildest dreams, or will the temple’s ancient traps and puzzles prove too much?

What Wizened Turtle brings to the table

What to Expect from My Games: - I respect the rules but believe that Rule of Cool makes stories unforgettable—expect flexibility when it means more fun! - Sessions come alive with ambiance and occasional background music to set the mood. I occasionally add in comedic value through music as well! - I dabble in character voices to add flavor (no judgment—just vibes, not perfection!). - Combat is challenging but never overwhelming, designed to be strategic and engaging without grinding players down. - You’ll occasionally run into puzzles or unusual obstacles—so bring your creativity and a willingness to think outside the box!

Homebrew rules

We have a few but we'll cover those real quick before the session! Nothing too crazy, just some quality-of-life rule updates

Safety

How Wizened Turtle creates a safe table

- Pre-Session Talk (10 minutes before the session start): A pre-game chat to establish expectations, boundaries, and themes. Players will share content they’d like to avoid, clarify tone (serious vs. goofy), and set goals for group playstyle. - Lines and Veils / Safety Tools: "Lines" are hard boundaries, “Veils” are fade-to-black moments. During pre-session talk, we will discuss further lines and veils. The current one(s) that are in place and will not be tolerated: - Sexual violence or assault - Child Harm / Abuse - Racism, Homophobia, Transphobia - Animal Cruelty - Graphic Mutilation - Suicide / Self-Harm - Real-world Politics/Religion - Substance Abuse Veils that may occur but we do not describe in detail - Consenting romantic encounters (fade-to-black) - Torture (Implied) Roleplay is allowed ONLY with the entire groups consent - Player Death (Acknowledged and a real possibility but not dwelled on) - Body Horror (vague descriptions at most) - In the session, we'll use the Green/Yellow/Red system. We will start with an open narrative and make sure that all lines and veils are openly known by all. Past this point, we will be Green for Go. If at in point a player(s) feels that we are heading towards something they find uncomfortable, they may indicate Yellow verbally or via chat that way we know to slow the roll and start leaning away from the topic/event/interaction. If Red is called or written in chat, an immediate stop will occur. The group will be given a break where everyone will be encouraged to step away from the table for a moment, gather themselves and we can calmly and cooperatively address the issue. If the player in question wants to discuss it privately or let me know privately, that is also encouraged in order to remain anonymous and avoid any unpleasant feelings. This is an open and safe space and everyone at this table should be committed to providing that for themselves and each other. - Open Dialogue: Encouraging feedback before or after sessions. I'll ask after each session “Was there anything that didn’t land well?” or “Anything you’d love more or less of next time?” I want to help cater these experiences to everyone who joins this table! - Content Warnings: Quick heads-up about potentially intense scenes. IE: “This session involves body horror or undead themes—nothing super graphic, but let me know if you want to steer clear.” Ties in with lines and veils - Tone Checks: Periodic pauses to ensure everyone’s on board with the vibe. I may ask “Is everyone enjoying themselves?” or “Want to dial it up/down?” especially if the narrative shifts into heavier territory or if we need to dial things down!
