About the adventure

New to D&D or veteran wanting a change of pace ? Get into the hilarious situations only a high-stake heist can provide. Role-play your way out of sticky situations, fool guards with clever disguises, come up with overly complicated and intricate plans ... or just fight your way out. The choice is up to you. We'll be delving straight into a time-sensitive matter; a dangerous item urgently needs to be 'secured' from a museum in Neverwinter, but the curator is already on high alert. What will your group come up with ? Will you be able to prevent disaster from striking ?

About me

Hey, I'm The WWWeaver, or just Tom. I've been a DM for more than 20 years for Call of Cthulhu, and the last 5 years switched mostly to Dungeons and Dragons. I have (co-)written several campaign books, and I love to present my D&D players with a mix of the 3 pillars; social, exploration and combat. I weave homebrew into official settings, and tie it all together with the strings of backstories. I have a background in the movie and audio industry, and more recently game development. I've been a story writer and teller for as long as I can remember, and it's such a joy to create epic movie experiences with my players. I love working with new players to see them experience this world of amazement, but also cater to experienced players with tons of homebrew systems (crafting, injuries, weather, organizations, ...) that can always be added to games depending on the passions and interests of the players.

Character creation

Creating your character

As this is a one-shot (beginner-friendly) characters will be created before the session. If you're experienced you can make a lvl 3 character on D&D beyond and share it, otherwise just pick any of the premade characters that will be made available to you. Details: - level: 3 - source material: all official, but if it's known OP stuff check with me. - Flavouring: Yes (i.e. as long as the mechanics stay the same, you can reflavour spells, feats, ... as you see fit).

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Technical: - know how to connect to roll20 - have a mic and account on discord. - webcam optional - if you created your character on dndbeyond, install the beyond20 extension in your browser so we can get your rolls into roll20 Knowledge of the rules: - some familiarity with dnd 5e rules (just basic is ok, e.g. 'watched a lot of critical role' level is fine) Character: - if you know how to create a character yourself and send to me to approve - a set of premade characters will be made available, so you can also pick one there. Setting: - It's set in Neverwinter, in Faerun, but no knowledge of this setting is required

What The WWWeaver brings to the table

- game session will be held in roll20, all maps and tokens provided (I have premium subscription, so dynamic lighting and other extras will be enabled) - voice over discord (server provided) - video optional - ambiance music over twitch

Safety

How The WWWeaver creates a safe table

- Session 0: max 15 min intro on boundaries for the group and how we create a safe environment where everyone can enjoy themselves. - X, N and O: send to me privately via roll20 chat. I'll adapt the flow of the game without bringing this up. In my experience this lowers the threshold to raise concerns and minimizes interruptions to the joy and flow of the game.
