About The WWWeaver

Hey, I'm The WWWeaver, or just Tom. I've been a DM for more than 20 years for Call of Cthulhu, and the last 5 years switched mostly to Dungeons and Dragons. I have (co-)written several campaign books, and I love to present my D&D players with a mix of the 3 pillars; social, exploration and combat. I weave homebrew into official settings, and tie it all together with the strings of backstories. I have a background in the movie and audio industry, and more recently game development. I've been a story writer and teller for as long as I can remember, and it's such a joy to create epic movie experiences with my players. I love working with new players to see them experience this world of amazement, but also cater to experienced players with tons of homebrew systems (crafting, injuries, weather, organizations, ...) that can always be added to games depending on the passions and interests of the players.

I got started GMing...

30 years ago and have never looked back.

My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be

Dungeons and Dragons (5e - 2014), Call of Cthulhu and Serenity (Firefly RPG)

When I'm not running games I'm...

Preparing them :)

How The WWWeaver runs games

I create and direct a living, breathing world where we all go on a journey together. Attention to all 3 pillars: - You'll encounter fun, tragic, deceptive,... NPCs, and deeply affect some of their lives - You'll explore infested dungeons, murky swamps, bustling cities, ... . Whatever stone you find interesting to pick up, I'll make sure there's something to find underneath it - You'll be challenged by formidable foes, multi-layered combat situations, epic battles, moral decisions (do you kill the goblin while their baby is crying in the hut behind them ??), complex environments, ... As an experienced writer of long and complex campaigns, I feel my strongest points are ensuring that whatever backstory you provide (before or during the game) gets embedded in the world so it feels an integral part of it in a natural way, and that I can dynamically adjust to cater more to the play styles of the players around the table. I'm very open to every kind of player, except people that are disrespectful or cross boundaries. I have extensive experience with elaborate session 0s to ensure everyone knows very well what is and isn't allowed, resulting in an open and safe environment for us all to have fun.
