About the adventure
Your are inexorably dragged into the dark and foreboding land of Barovia - a land of mist, ancient evils, and a Tarokka deck foretelling murky futures. š¦ Face the endless machinations and torment of a merciless vampiric master 𩸠There is only one way to escape the land of endless gothic horror - defeat Strahd š This time it is personal and the chance of success is seemingly impossible, unless.... Under raging storm clouds, a lone figure stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. The vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich stares down a sheer cliff at the village below. A cold, bitter wind spins dead leaves about him, billowing his cape in the darkness. Lightning splits the clouds overhead, casting stark white light across him. Strahd turns to the sky, revealing the angular muscles of his face and hands. He has a look of powerāand of madness. His once handsome face is contorted by a tragedy darker than the night itself. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. The wind's howling increases as Strahd turns his gaze back to the village. Far below, yet not beyond his ken, a party of adventurers has just entered his domain. Strahd's face forms a twisted smile as his dark plan unfolds. He knew they were coming, and he knows why they have comeāall according to his plan. He, the master of Ravenloft, will attend to them. Another lightning flash rips through the darkness, its thunder echoing through the castle's towers. But Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the windāor perhaps a lone wolfāfills the midnight air. The master of Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited.

Creating your character
ā For experienced players, characters will be created in D&DBeyond. A campaign link will be provided that has access to all authorized content. All players are required to create their characters within this campaign vice bringing in characters from their personal D&DBeyond accounts. This prevents the introduction of unauthorized content into the campaign. ā As a new player, creating a character can be intimidating. Four pre-generated characters will be available to choose from if you don't want to create your own. ā Take this quick personality test. It will provide you four options that best suites your personality type. https://dungeons-and-dragons-mbti.netlify.app/ ā I will walk you through how to use the character sheet during our 1-1 introductory meeting.

Homebrew rules
ā Enemy Initiative. Vice making "one roll for an entire group of identical creatures," initiative will be rolled for each individual creature or in some cases, for "a formation" of enemy combatants. ā Hit Dice Vice rolling the dice after a short rest, you can apply the "average" hit dice value + constitution modifier (same rule used for adding HPs when leveling up). ā Break Out. Some monster effects that remove a player's ability to take an action by causing them to be paralyzed, charmed, stunned, etc. for the duration of the spell can be "broken" by suffering psychic damage instead. The player roles a d4. The damage taken is a percentage of hit points remaining (e.g. if a player has 20 HP left and roles a 2 on the d4, that represents a loss of 20% of 20 HP which equals 4 HP of psychic damage to break the spell) ā Flanking Flanking confers a +2 bonus to attack rolls instead of advantage ā Death Saves Death saving throws are done privately ā Vicious Mockery or Tashaās Hideous Laughter If you use vicious mockery or Tashaās hideous laughter and your joke/insult makes me laugh, the target gets no saving throw.
