About the adventure

Step into Sigil, the City of Doors—a place where every alley hides a portal to another world and every belief shapes reality itself. Suspended at the heart of the multiverse, Sigil is a city of factions, philosophies, and intrigue. Angels rub shoulders with fiends, devils sell noodles on the corner, and the wrong word in the wrong ear can start a war across infinite planes. Here, the Lady of Pain watches over all, ensuring no one grows too powerful… or too curious. You awaken in a strange morgue with fractured memories and a nagging sense that something is wrong with reality. As you step into the streets of Sigil, you’ll discover a dangerous truth: you are unstable. Each time death claims you, a different version of yourself takes your place—different skills, different past, same soul. These "incarnations" will shape your path as you chase the truth behind the cosmic glitch unraveling the planes. This is a game for players who love mystery, high-concept fantasy, and a dash of the surreal. Expect roleplay-rich moments in bizarre markets, tense negotiations with powerful factions, and daring adventures through portal-linked worlds. Combat will be cinematic and high-stakes, but survival isn’t always the goal—the multiverse changes you whether you live or die. Whether you’re a seasoned planeswalker or brand new to D&D, this campaign welcomes you. The tone blends weird wonder, dark humor, and high drama, inviting you to explore strange worlds, wrestle with big philosophical questions, and carve your place in a reality that’s constantly rewriting itself. In Sigil, anything is possible—just don’t forget: the planes are watching.

About me

New DM. Big imagination. Your story matters. Hi! I’m Spencer, a newer Dungeon Master who’s deeply passionate about storytelling, worldbuilding, and giving players a space to explore their characters, choices, and consequences. While I’m still early in my DM journey, I’ve already run multiple one-shots with a variety of players—and I’m now stepping into running longer-form campaigns with rich character arcs and evolving storylines. I focus on roleplay, emotional stakes, and world immersion. My games lean into character-driven stories, moral choices, and player creativity, while still keeping the rules in mind. I’m not here to show off—I’m here to help you tell a meaningful story and have fun doing it. What to Expect: A welcoming, flexible DM who listens and adapts Safe, inclusive games with open communication Story-focused sessions with opportunities for combat, exploration, and character development A homebrew world with unique factions, secrets, and mythologies (unless you would like to do a module set in a certain setting). I currently run games over DND Beyond maps, but willing to try a new platform, using Discord for communcation, and I’m always happy to do a Session Zero to create a shared vision and comfort for the group. Whether you’re new to D&D or a veteran looking for a thoughtful table, I’d love to run something for you. Let’s roll some dice and build something unforgettable.

Character creation

Creating your character

Everyone will be using point buy to create their character. I would everyone to use the 2014 rules because that is what I am used to and what the module is written for. We will be having out session 0 on September 2nd and looking to run bi-weekly from there. Session 0 will be completely free. FAQ: Starting level is? ~Level 1 to quickly get to higher levels where more fun can happen Where should I make my character? ~In DND Beyond so all can see the sheet Should I make my character ahead of time? ~Yes, however I would like to talk about how they fit in the party before the first session. Do you tie in character backstories? ~I would love to and have you collaborate with me on how this might look or the specific details Any Content off limits? ~Anything that is 2014 is on the table except homebrew that has not been specifically checked off by me. How do I decide my stats? ~Point buy or standard array is preferred Essentially everything will be done during session 0, you will need to just join discord. If you have other questions just message me! {:^)

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Make sure to join the discord and the campaign in dnd beyond. And send me a message in discord to set up a time to tie you in!

What Loaver brings to the table

We will be using DND Beyond for almost everything. We will use discord for communication. I have also bought a lot of dnd content and can share that with folks. I also love player creativity so if you want to try something I will try my best (within the rules) to see it out! I do have access to some well made maps and have been practicing making my own maps. If you know the DM Lair at all I have also bought a bunch of content from there and may use some of their sources in out campaign to help ensure high quality content for everyone! I am also going to look into making custom tokens for the custom enemies I have planned.

Safety

How Loaver creates a safe table

We will establish the premise of the campaign and some boundries for going forward. After this is done then we will make connections for our characters and have them all set to go. Depending on when this is complete we may even start the campaign. After each session I will make sure there is time to share any adjustments or critiques of how we can make the game more enjoyable. I am also always open to personal messages of how I can change the game to better suit everyone. I want everyone to have a good time!
