About Loaver
New DM. Big imagination. Your story matters. Hi! I’m Spencer, a newer Dungeon Master who’s deeply passionate about storytelling, worldbuilding, and giving players a space to explore their characters, choices, and consequences. While I’m still early in my DM journey, I’ve already run multiple one-shots with a variety of players—and I’m now stepping into running longer-form campaigns with rich character arcs and evolving storylines. I focus on roleplay, emotional stakes, and world immersion. My games lean into character-driven stories, moral choices, and player creativity, while still keeping the rules in mind. I’m not here to show off—I’m here to help you tell a meaningful story and have fun doing it. What to Expect: A welcoming, flexible DM who listens and adapts Safe, inclusive games with open communication Story-focused sessions with opportunities for combat, exploration, and character development A homebrew world with unique factions, secrets, and mythologies (unless you would like to do a module set in a certain setting). I currently run games over DND Beyond maps, but willing to try a new platform, using Discord for communcation, and I’m always happy to do a Session Zero to create a shared vision and comfort for the group. Whether you’re new to D&D or a veteran looking for a thoughtful table, I’d love to run something for you. Let’s roll some dice and build something unforgettable.

I got started GMing...
I started GMing because I believed I could run a better game than the one I was in—and I wanted to prove it by creating something players would genuinely care about. I love crafting story arcs, homebrew mechanics, and watching how players twist a world I built into something unexpected.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Flexible, inclusive, and thoughtful
When I'm not running games I'm...
When I’m not running games, I’m teaching high school students math, playing story-rich video games, and fleshing out new homebrew mechanics or world ideas for D&D. I love the way creativity, structure, and fun all come together in tabletop games—so I’m always chasing ways to improve.
How Loaver runs games
I enjoy both roleplay and combat equally—to me, the magic of D&D happens when those elements feed into each other. I love designing complex locations to explore, with secrets to uncover and shifting storylines that react to the players’ actions. Whether it's a tense negotiation or a desperate fight in a collapsing ruin, I want each session to feel like part of a living world. I give players the space to influence the story meaningfully and always try to tie character backstories into the world. As a player, I’ve always felt most connected when my character’s past mattered—so I try to give that same feeling to my players. Whether you're a quiet roleplayer or a bold tactician, I’ll find ways to spotlight your choices and growth. In combat, I strive to keep things challenging but fair—where every encounter pushes the party to think creatively and play smart, without ever feeling like the odds are stacked just for drama. I also roleplay enemies and creatures like they’re thinking, breathing beings with goals, fears, and instincts—not just stat blocks waiting to be defeated. Sometimes they fight to the death. Sometimes they run. Sometimes they talk. I’m the kind of GM who: Wants your backstory to matter Will absolutely throw consequences at you in fun and fair ways Keeps things moving with good pacing and scene changes Welcomes new players and creates a space to learn together Preps a lot behind the scenes, but leaves space for the story to breathe If you're looking for a GM who cares about story, builds a world that reacts to you, and treats player choices with weight—then we’ll probably get along great.

I once ran a session...
I once planned a session with a clear plot, but the party took an unexpected path. I adapted, and the new story became more meaningful and memorable because it was driven by their choices. It showed me the true magic of collaborative storytelling.
I prep by
I prep by designing locations with depth and meaning—places that invite exploration, roleplay, and strategy. I plan story threads and potential paths, but I always leave room for players to throw me curveballs. I build encounters that are challenging but fair, and I try to think through how NPCs act
My games focus on...
My games focus on story-rich adventures, meaningful player choices, and immersive worlds where your character’s actions—and backstory—matter. I aim to balance exploration, roleplay, and combat, creating challenges that feel fair but push you to think and grow.
Loaver's ideal table
My table is a friendly, welcoming space where creativity and collaboration come first. We balance roleplay and combat equally, with a focus on exploration, player choices, and meaningful story moments. Players who enjoy diving into their characters’ backstories, exploring detailed environments, and tackling challenging but fair combat will feel right at home. I encourage teamwork, thoughtful tactics, and improvisation—whether you love deep roleplay, clever problem-solving, or strategic battles. New players are always welcome, and I’m patient with anyone learning the ropes. The vibe is casual but immersive, with plenty of room for laughs, surprises, and memorable moments. If you like games where your choices really matter and where the story evolves based on what you do, you’ll fit right in.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
If you’re into deep roleplay and tactical combat, exploring rich worlds where your choices really matter, character-driven stories and challenging but fair fights, creative problem-solving and collaborative storytelling, and immersive worlds that bring your backstory to life, My table is for you!
I love it when a player
I love it when a player brings others into the spotlight—especially those who might be quieter—by drawing them into the story’s lore and mysteries. Seeing the whole group engage and explore the world’s depths makes the game richer and more fun for everyone.
I think min/maxing...
I think min-maxing is great! I love doing it as a player, and as a DM, it lets me design bigger, more exciting challenges without worrying about accidentally wiping out the party. It means combat stays tense and rewarding for everyone.
