Creating your character

✨ We’ll build your heroes together before Session 1 — so you’re ready to dive into the story from the very first dice roll. Starting Level 1 — you’ll begin as newly chosen heroes, bound by ancient oaths. Stats We roll for stats — classic heroic style! We’ll use 4d6 drop the lowest, roll together in Discord, and reroll anything truly awful (nobody starts their mythic saga with all 8s!). Allowed Content: * Any official Wizards of the Coast 5e sourcebooks * Odyssey of the Dragonlords Player’s Guide Where: We use D&D Beyond for character sheets and dice rolls. New to D&D? Perfect! I love helping first-timers. I’ll walk you through stat rolling, backstory ideas, and how your hero fits into Thylea’s ancient world. Bring a big idea, and we’ll make it shine.

Preparing for the session

How Mike creates a safe table

✅ Session 0 Check-In Before we start, we’ll have a short Session 0 to cover: What you want in the game (themes, moments you’d love to see) What you want to avoid (Lines & Veils — things we’ll fade to black or skip entirely) How your hero fits into the world and prophecy ✅ Lines & Veils I share a simple, private Lines & Veils document — you can add to it at any time, no questions asked. If something changes for you mid-campaign, just tell me and we’ll adjust. ✅ X, N, & O Cards We use digital X, N, and O cards (via Discord or StartPlaying chat): X — Stop! Fade to black or switch scenes. N — I’m not loving this. Let’s ease up or pivot. O — I love this! More, please! You can message these privately or share them live — whatever feels best for you. ✅ Aftercare At the end of each session, I check in with the group. If there’s anything you want to talk about one-on-one, my Discord DMs are always open. Nobody has to carry discomfort to next week’s session. ✅ Safe & Inclusive Big roleplay, moral dilemmas, and horror moments stay fun when we trust each other.
