About the adventure

A Juvenile Flickerfly is tonight's hunt! A ferocious beast the size of a horse with 2 pair of iridescent wings and terrible speed and cunning. Two full chests of Gold and a favour by the Wizard Venator, owner of the establishment and possibly the best patron to serve in times of peace. Now you find yourself with a party of adventurers and prepare everything you need before you embark on the hunt that could set you up for a lifetime… as long as you bring it back alive. Although this is a dangerous and possibly deadly One-shot, it is beginner-friendly with ample time to get the ropes for the game and hunt a beast within the time given in a single One-Shot Do you enjoy hunts like these? Join "The Inn"(Discord) and wait for the next quest to be available for another adventure!

About me

For me TTRPGs are a path towards the creation of characters and worlds that we can immerse ourselves in, learn new ways to interact and have fun and with each other! I am a seasoned TTRPG player for 8+ years, only reason I never GMed was because of a single reason "Rules as Written". I was told this idea that the DM should always have the world all on their own and use the book as a fixed guide for encounters and roleplay. Now that I know "Rule of Cool" exists, my approach to TTRPGs has completely changed and I can now enjoy all the years of learning the games and the new systems that allow more freedom and roleplay. As a Pychologist I believe in creating safe spaces for people at the table at all times, no matter the theme or stakes of a game. As a teacher it is my duty to continue learning and teaching whenever I can, so I love the approach to new game systems and "Learn and Play" templates When it comes to safety expect special attention to "Session 0" and a homebrew addition called "Continuos boundaries at the table".

Character creation

Creating your character

In this One-shot, you need a pre-made character, although I can help in the process, we would need to make it before the session begins. If creating a character feels daunting (first time playing), I can give you 3 options for pre-made characters: A Flying Seraph, a Wayfinder Simiah Ranger, and a Full-plated Galapa Guardian. All level 5, with the flexibility to be changed into the character you want to play. Refer to the Core rulebook, Quickstart guide, or Demiplane free options for Daggerheart characters. If you have further questions about character creation, I am available; you can message me here in StartPlaying.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

To prepare for the session you'll need either a pre-made character or one made by you before the session begins, as we start on "The Inn" right before you embark on your journey. For this One-shot you'll only need a Demiplane account (optional but recommended), join the Discord server (That's where we'll be playing) and get ready to use 2 specific webpages whenever necessary (freshcutgrass.ap and Owlbear Rodeo for specific fights)

What Profesor Haltr brings to the table

I love building stories out of character's ideals, backstories and motivations, as such, I bring twists, character arcs and optional Play by Post sessions to continue building your characters. I love making weird and bold choices in acting, voices and descriptions to make believable and/or wild interpretations. I love Rool of Cool, in my table anything can be done with the right arguments and creativity. Always respecting the narrative and continuity. I bring improv basics like "yes, and" and "No, but" into our sessions. Lastly, for as much as I love playing with characters emotions, as a psychologist, my goal is to always look out for everyone's fun and safety at the table. As well as cooldowns and debreifs to allow emotions to flow naturally and not end things abruptly.

Homebrew rules

There are 3 Hombrew rules in this One-shot: - Armor can only be repaired if you have the right materials (you'll have some at the inn) - You'll need to be careful, there will be 2 extra HP on the monster, whenever you think you're close to killing it you can ask to see how damaged it is, if you deal a Severe Damage to it right on the extra HP, you'll kill it. Hunting is more than just attacking the monster -Optional: I'll ask at the beginning of the session, but we could use the "double the severe threshold rule" to deal 4 HP Max damage.

Safety

How Profesor Haltr creates a safe table

Since this is a One-shot we'll be doing a faster version of a Session 0 with Lines and Veils and Tone being the major focuses, even if its for a session I need to make sure everyone is safe and having fun at the table!
